Mumbai in heavy rains again... Life under water!

    Its time for sos... call up your friends and relatives in mumbai and confirm if they are fine!

    Yes mumbai is under water yet again, Cars, bikes, auto, taxi are under water. Houses are almost half under water..

    No lights.. no water..

    Life is under water... pray for mumbai!

    Here are some pics taken via my mobile 1hr back and the water is collecting more...

    Its raining like hell now... Its dangerous.. mumbaikars don't move out of house!!

    Water levels have now reached till 3/4 auto n car ... Its going crazy n bad...

    Mumbaikars I hope you all are fine and safe. I hope the rains stops soon and the waters goes back into the sea! :(

    I don't know how much time i'l be online via lappy n gprs.. Battery is almost over!

    erm - this pictures look pretty harmless compared to some floodings i have seen in europe some years ago. flushed even some houses, streets and rail tracks away. river levels had been some meters over normal, at this stage people had to be evacuated via helicopters or boats.

    Yeah, I suppose 2 main rivers through a large urban city at upto 18 feet higher then normal is small fry! Sorry, my bad!

    It's been flooding in my town too. It's amazing how much damage and disruption can be caused by only a few feet of water, especially if it gets contaminated with sewage.

    I hope it all goes well in Mumbia, as well as in the UK this weekend.

    Is your local football stadium Hillsbrough?
    I saw the flooding there, what's it like now around Sheffield way? Are the routes into Sheffield and surronding areas clear as I am going that way tomorrow and know from earlier in the week they were blocked badly?
