You all know of directory submission, and you all know it helps.

But how many directories can you submit to at once without being penalized?
And how many when your site is new?

    Thanks.

There is no limit to the directory submission. You can do with n number of directories.

Then whats this whole thing about getting penalized for getting too many backlinks too fast.. especially for a brand new site... ?

sometime you cant help how many backlinks you get. if people like to link to you and you get thousands everyday.

i dont think google will penalise you.

    Hello...

I really see no harm in doing a few a first if your site is new and you are best to
pick 3 keyword rich anchors for when you do submit so that its not looked as spam
which then could very well get ya flagged.

    If the site is New..

I would say 300-500 submissions MAX with different descriptions and anchors text

If the site has gotten PR or is 6-9 months old then i would say you could double that
number as submittion times will be different and vary from one another as well as you have
the time in between were the spider finds the link in that given directory.

    thx

Well i wouldnt say it if i didnt think it was true...:)

Theirs many ways to promote... Press releases, article submissions, tagging and various others.

Dont forget to optimize your pages for the SEs even though they always claim do it for the visitors
rather then the SEs but only problem is who sees your site on page 35? ...

So like i said... make sure you SEO your site.

    thx

Dont do more than 100 submission per day, also the directories take time to approve them, so they will not all show up at the same time.

Start building 20-50 links a day and move up to 200 links a day or so within the first 3 months. I should've done this at the start of my newest site but I never built onto this idea in the beginning.

As for directory submissions -- build them naturally or even in a maximized way, it's unlikely that you'll get penalized if the directory listings are in high PR directories.

I don't think it matters because directories add your link at different times.
