    I do, I know...
    ...I've wasted, err I mean...

I have spent many hours looking into affiliate program options:

    • Paid ones tend to be very expensive, and...
    • ...Most cheap ones tend to really be lousy.
    • IMO, Free ones are OK for small jobs

If you want a 100% free & EZ solution, Mal's eCommerce has these features:

    • Free (also a paid version)
    • Pretty easy to learn, unless you are really new to computer skills
    • Secure
    • Works with an EZ, also free, shopping cart.
    • Hosted for you, even the free version
    • OK for a small to medium project, not intended for huge companies.
    • A very helpful community which makes some free modifications and gives advice.

    Mal's eCommerce

    Problems
    • 'Pretty easy to learn' doesn't mean 'no learning curve at all', it takes some effort.
    • Basic functions are pretty limited (but it's almost perfect for the job you described)
    • Your affiliates aren't coming to your site, when they check their stats (easy on your server, but you don't get the traffic)
    Other Free Options:

I'm sure there are dozens (I'm going to look at the one 'scart3r' mentioned)

    Good luck with your search.

I bought a 'professional' affiliate script for $24.95 over a year ago.
    • It was so lame, the install instuctions said (near the end)...
    • ..."Do not delete any affiliates, it will corrupt the database"
I was lucky to have paid through 'Clickbank'.
The complaint process was just a simple phone call and I got the money back.

    :D

    Yep, it is pretty funny!
I also felt much better about it after getting the refund approved.

There's a list of some of the most popular used ones by other affiliate programs listed here

Don't know if you are looking for these sorts of things or not. Hope they helped anyway. Good luck with what you want to do and hope it works for you.
