How does it feel to be a self confessed believer in complete BS?

That's what an atheist is. It's like saying "Just because you bake bread doesn't mean you have to be a baker".

Though i would call myself an anti-theist. I don't just disbelieve what religious people believe, I actively oppose it as being backwards, primitive and a cancer in society.

To me, believing in god for the sake of it is about as absurd as it gets. I don't think i can think of anything more absurd than a christian who believes in god for the sake of it and who also calls his faith "complete BS".

Your post is practically the definition of brainwashing. You know it's incorrect, You know there is nothing to support it, But you still can't help believing it, In the face of your simultaneously held belief that it's a load of crap.

    Unbelievable.

We need more people like stOx in the world. We need to continuously and relentlessly take measures to oppose & repress all religions and keep them in the hole of "faith"(irrational belief, unsupported by evidence) that they belong, otherwise there will continue to be stonings, genocides, teaching of intelligent design in science class & countless hours of lost productivity due to people engaged in prayer...

You just contradicted your self right from the start. You said "because of the realization of the stupidity and nonsense of the bible" and the next sentence is "I do not mean to cause any harm to members of DP or hurt their religious feelings, it's simply my opinion".

Yes you do mean to cause harm, otherwise you would not have called people "stupid" and "nonsense" for their beliefs in the Bible.

Next time, engage your brain before opening your mouth if you want to be recognized as someone who is sincere.

    IMO.

    Col :)

Reminds me of a quote :):

"All my life I have made it a rule never to permit a religious man or women to take for granted that his or her religious beliefs deserved more consideration than non-religious or anti-religious ones. I never agree with that foolish statement that I ought to respect the views of others when I believe them to be wrong."

Well, no your first statement is very stupid because I've eaten, seen and touched corn whereas I've never eaten, seen or touched a miracle. What do you mean it has nothing to do with anything? Because I've never seen a body float to heaven or moving star which guides people to places.

Yes, saying the bible contradicts itself is easy to claim, and I'll prove it:

    * Exodus 20:13 "Thou shalt not kill."
    * Leviticus 24:17 "And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death."

    And:

    * Exodus 20:16 "Thou shalt not bear false witness."
    * Proverbs 12:22 "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord."

    vs

    * I Kings 22:23 "The Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee."
    * II Thessalonians 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie."

    And:
    * Exodus 20:15 "Thou shalt not steal."
    * Leviticus 19:13 "Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbor, neither rob him."

    vs

    * Exodus 3:22 "And ye shall spoil the Egyptians."
    * Exodus 12:35-36 "And they spoiled [plundered, NRSV] the Egyptians."
    * Luke 19:29-34 "[Jesus] sent two of his disciples, Saying, Go ye into the village . . . ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. . . . And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? And they said, The Lord hath need of him."

Oh and what do you mean by your last statement? Scientists know why the sun and moon come up and down and it's quite simple to explain, in fact, if you've been to school you should know that. (Hint, god doesn't make it go up and down).

No doubt he will now say you took it "out of context".. that's the textbook defence for the religious when their own documents are used against them.

To anyone with any sense they are obvious contradictions though.

May I also say that Richard Dawkins is one of the smartest person I've ever seen. He has written many books, made a world wide documentary proving religion wrong and has many people agreeing and talking about his works. You see, being an atheist, you can choose to agree with what someone says, or not to agree...with religion you are TOLD what to agree with and have no choice in what you believe. If you believe that god didn't rise from the dead then you are not a true believer and are not a real Christian, I guess, you are almost scared into being religious...

You've never experienced a miracle. Lots of people have.

Lots of people have never experienced a lot of things for themselves. Doesn't mean those things don't exist.

You're militantly silly about being anti-religion. The typical teenage "I so smart" rampage.

Wrong. Lots of people claim to have, no evidence. Probably just delusion or exceptional circumstances.

Atheists would have an easier time convincing me if they didn't just blindly and soley attack Christianity. Why do they get so obsessed with that one religion? Why didnt they name the site christianityisbullshit.com instead of pretending to be about religion in general and then building a site against Christianity? It always seems so disengenuous to me.

I can't help but visualize some rebellious kids angry at Christian mommy and dad stomping their feet, and crying "I just wont believe in any God then!"

Christianity as religions go is not so bad IMO. Although I will never follow a religion I find some great stuff in Christianity and Buddhism and some others but those two in general.
