What do you think of new version of Firefox?

    I love it!

I was a little worried at first...I didn't like the glassy looks on the tabs.

However I think it is great that links in email messages (actually I think all links for that matter) open in new tabs by default.

    Any other cool features?

This is Firefox 2.0.0.4? Just seems like the earlier version to me so I'm pretty indifferent to it.

    What new version? 3 Beta?

I'm using 2.0.0.4 and have no glassy tabs.

The newer version of Firefox sucks because it doesn't work with Windows 98....there are an estimated 70 million people still using this OS, and Mozilla decides to bow down to Microsoft and end support for it. It is a stupid business move. Firefox is headed down the path of IE.

What pressure did MS bring to bear? If there was a profitable market and demand for it why would they pass it by? Seems more likly that they may revisit it but for the meantime that they wanted to get this version out there.

No difference in the tab appearance in FF 2.0.0.4 and Minefield, both look same.

I've been using Minefield for a pretty long time now and I prefer it over the other versions. :) The tab feature, like you mentioned, is very cool.

I can't get over the fact that 70 million people still use Win98!

Any indication of which countries lead in this old operating system's usage?

Yes, and as always big time.

Thats one major drawback of firefox.

This is perhaps because of Firefox being a multi-threaded app, It creates multiple threads for every new tab opened. Thus switching between tabs is faster than Opera but it consumes too much memory and CPU.

I only use FF because of the many USEFUL plugins it has. Opera has alot but none are useful ( SimAquarium, Clock etc )
