Wordpress Problem with javascripts.

I`ve installed wordpress 2.2.1 to my website. Whenever I logged in as admin and trying to write anything clicking the write menu of my admin panel the page opens with an error.

My browser is showing "Error on Page" . IE shows this error as javascript errors.

I could not write anything in the page content box or could not paste anything there. The visual and code buttons are also not functioning .

But it is astonishing that Page Title field is writable.

I could not add categories also. Whenever I put a category name and the slug name in the field provided and click the submit button, nothing happens. The page does`nt redirect and the category is not added.

Is this problem related with file permissions change?

I`ve followed this thread http://wordpress.org/support/topic/50863?replies=15 in this regard. But no change happened.

Which are the files whose permissions are to be changed here?

Can anyone direct me to right path ? Any feedback is highly appreciated.

Go into Users -> Your Profile and uncheck the visual editor option (it's the only checkbox in the page). See if the problem persists.

I followed the above instruction, unchecked the visual editor option and it works, the writing problem is overcomed.
I`ve also experimented switching to Firefox from IE and the writing problem was not there.

But in the above two instances the add category problem persists. Whenever I put a category name and the slug name in the field provided and click the submit button, nothing happens. The page not redirects and the category is not being added.

Etherfast, you seems to be a geneus, I think you must have a solution for the present category problem :(

Heh, I'm so far away from a genius :)
Anyway, the category problem is most likely an AJAX issue. Can you check for instance if you can add users from your admin panel? I had the same problem once and was not able to do anything with AJAX.

However, I got the problem fixed by itself. Are you sure it's not an incompatibility with your host?
