I am planning to buy a new laptop. Please suggest some good models keeping in mind the following factors:
    1. Cost: Not to exceed $1250
    2. Configuration good enough to cope up with my SEO needs. (HDD-100GB min.)
    3. Screen size:15" - 17"
    4. Easy and Prompt Customer Care/Service (In India)

    Thanks in advance. :)

With 1250$ you have a good portion of the market in your reach. You can even go for mid range Apple in that price range.

My friend bought HP and is planning to get rid of the "JUNK" (thats what she says) and haven't really heard good reviews about HP from anyone known either. But Apple sounds good to me. Can you tell me the exact model of Apple in discussion? What about Toshiba notebooks? I have heard good reviews about them. About Compaq, I don't really have an idea.

I ordered mine from Dell and it was custom built and shipped in less than a week. Inspiron E1505. Now they have cool colored laptops. No problems, very fast, runs quiet, perfect for me.
