Ugh, my daughter's bike was stolen yesterday and I put the word out to the neighborhood kids and they found it and brought it home to me. I also figured out a way to get the boys who stole it to come here and had the police catch them bringing me the parts.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. I posted the whole story over at random bullsh*t and then thought I would get opinions on the matter from my friends at DP.

I can't sleep tonight thinking about those kids. There were 4 juveniles total involved. I am worried about what they will do to me next, but the officer said they would warn them that if something happened they would come straight to them and would charge them with something to do with a crime victim something or other...lol

And I guess that's why we carry good insurance.

So we live in a town of about 4000 middle class, mostly white, it's not like I'm in a terrible neighborhood. We live in one of the best communities around. I know one of their mothers.

But with all the bike parts they brought to me, it was apparent that they had made a habit of it.

I hate being the bad guy, but I think it's time someone stood up and put a stop to it. I wonder how many times someone didn't press charges against them?

    Bond, Mary Bond....lol

OH EGS- that would be the first time you've told me no...lol;)

Will you tell her about what her son is doing for fun? I would rat out the little good in an instant. Of course it all depends if his parents actually care about their son turning into a little criminal...

Lolz, this happens mostly to cars in the area i study... the cars get stolen and within hours its taken to some mechanic in a tribal area and whooo whoo, the chassis there, the engine somwhere else and all parts scattered in minutes and those who suffer can spend the rest of the life finding the stolen car and they never will....

Anyways i think even if they were 13, stealing is really bad, one good scorning from the Police might teach them a lesson or ( maybe they get more serious ).. All i can say is that you did right!

Yes you did the right thing...

Reminds me of when we got ding dong ditched every day for a few weeks! So we staked out our porch and when they came by and rang the bell we put a shotgun the them and said not to do it again!

What did they do? They kept doing it so then we called the police and had them stake it out and then they arrested them for disturbing the peace. They went to Juvie for 2 weeks and had to do 150 hours of community service ( The judge decided this not us... we suggest Juvie for 3-4 days and 50 hours of community service but apparantly they were doing it to other people too! )

No we don't get ding dong ditched anymore. We do get Tp'd sometimes but while they are doing it we just shoot a couple of Shotgun BLANKS into the air and it scares them off for a few months :)
