How about Vince McMahon doing a 3-hour tribute to Chris on Monday night, then on Tuesday the reality of the guy's killing spree is revealed? I don't mean to offend any WWE fans or anyone who was a fan of Chris and what he did... But honestly, anyone who puts wrestlers on a pedestal needs a reality check. From http://www.marksfriggin.com/news07/6-25.htm#tue Marksfriggin.com (Howard Stern show recap archive site), and Tuesday's Stern show: That's pretty sick. 1000 squats?! Can anyone really do that many?
McMahon is a salesman. He's never interested in honoring someone out of their good deeds or recognition for their skills, he's all about how to milk the masses and make bucks. The fact that he so quickly organized a "tribute" to Benoit is proof that his mind is on his own interests and not anyone else's.
WWE is just another business company. Ashame that they could not wait to see what really happened. I guess it's money over people like always.
On Tuesday night, at the beginning of ECW, Vince McMahon aired this statement... Yeah, they did jump the gun when they aired the tribute. The quote above apparently seems like WWE admitted they made a mistake.
Seems like they owned up to it as best they could. He isn't on their website anymore (at least in the superstar listings), but you can search the name, of course. I'm glad they disowned him after this. No sense in doing some sort of wonderful look back at this guy after what is known.
I liked chris i guess all the fame got into him. He strangled both his wif and son then hung himself. OUCH!!! ~Sheen91
Chris Benoit was perhaps the best technical wrestler of all times......RIP benoit....Tuthless aggregation.....
I can't believe Chris did that horrible thing to his family. I mean, I liked him and all, but after knowing what he did..I don't know if I still like him. Killing his wife is one thing, but killing an innocent child, is too much. >.>
An anonymous user operating a computer traced to Stamford, Conn. — home to World Wrestling Entertainment — posted an entry to pro wrestler Chris Benoit's biography on Wikipedia.org announcing the death of his wife Nancy at least 13 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband's and that of their 7-year-old son
When I first read this thread I thought it was BS. Then I checked other sources online, and it is certainly true. I can't believe it. I've been a fan of wrestling for about eight years, though I haven't been watching it much for the last six or seven months. This is really terrible news. What happen to Eddie was horrible, but Benoit's case is worse, because apparently he killed his own family. I tell you, Chris Benoit is the last person on the planet that I would expect to do that. One thing that is certain is that Chris won't have the legacy that Eddie left behind. WWE has already begin pulling is merchandise and videos off their shelves. The biggest question is why he did it, but that is an answer that only he knows, or did know... From what I've been reading, it seems that there was a deep conflict between him and his wife over their 7 year old son, who suffers from autism. His career seemed to get in the way of his relationship with his family, and I get the impression that the situation deteriorated over time. This combined with steroid use, alcohol, you get the point........ The lesson to be learned here is that if you're one of those guys who is dedicated to his work, so dedicated that you don't have time for a family, you shouldn't have one..........It is a decision I have made, and I think it is the right one.
Other wrestlers have told the story a different way, squats w/o weight are also a bit different than weighted. Especially for guys in shape, that need endurance. If a guy was a prick for this then damn every coach I ever had was a super prick!
I believe you are referring to this: http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Death_o..._on_Wikipedia_hours_prior_to_body_being_found The wiki edit can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chris_Benoit&diff=next&oldid=140442953
I hope police investigate this. It seems very odd that somebody would now that she died before anybody else did. They could have saved the little boy.
