I will show my dog if you want))) Will that be a good proof that I am an atheist? All these muslim links are annoying now to me =)

...And here comes the xxi century, the time when Americans discovered muslims

Most americans, not people, there's more in the world than US =)

sad to say it to you, but blue jeans is not the most popular thing russians wear as it's on the west as well as McDonalds/Burger King for food :) In Russia ppl spend more time and money to look "uncasual" way. This is noticeable to any foreign man that comes over here.

I remember how my old friend from Toronto really wanted to get a pair of Diesel jeans, saying Levis is cr*p.

    1) Germany/USA/Finland do not have 1/3 population of Russians and they do allow any nationality to work in a "good" places, in parlament, etc. Plus they do not force you to learn american/german or finnish language.

    2) What you call "occupied", was the Stalin's regime. He killed much more Russians and other nationalities himself than Estonians, ok ? Read the history, you know it.

    3) When there's a world war you wouldn't get out of water dry.

    4) I do not watch general TV channels, I got a satellite

    5) Your nickname is somewhat nazi, j/k :)

That's why we keep two full stocked and working breweries in geographically, non-strategic portions of the Central Midwest!

We've got a stock pile of beer to hold us for decades, if not centuries!!!

Russia under the leadership of putin is trying to reassert itself over world politics. Are we to witness another phase of cold war?

Russians were always smart ! They were always conquering by land. That is why they still today have so much land in possession...unlike some former great powers ( UK, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal, etc.. ) who went around by see :D

What has the claim of the North Pole to do with communism hahaha. It is more like capitalism if you mention all those gas reserves ;)

About Russian military capabilities. People who think that US shield ( Poland ) is aimed at Iran or some other country is really really stupid. Americans fear of Russia is very strong. And it should be. Either nuclear or conventional....

That is exactly why is shows of communism. It would be state owned and operated with no other options. Capitalism would have companies fighting for the rights and having to buy the land, etc..

Well they will at the end :D ... buy from Russia ...

I don't know much about this story ... maybe it is just another story from british press which is known for great russian antipropaganda from 19th century till today ;) I don't know why ... afterall russians never attacked Britain ... but englishmen military boot sure was in russia with a little help from their friends polish guys and some other and they were defeated and thrown out like many others before ;) .... but that is history and like we already saw some of you are a little short on this

So who do you think should own North Pole and from who should companies buy the land and exploitation rights ? :D

    Yes Ok...

Just want to hear from you who you think should own N. Pole ?

I don't see nothing wrong if Russians own it if they have arguments for this...if they just take it no one will have the balls to do something anyway....

    Anti-Russian propaganda.....

................As far as The Law of the Sea Convention is concerned it allows states an economic zone of 200 nautical miles and can sometimes be expanded.

To stretch out the zone the essential claim any state has to prove is that its structure of the continental shelf is related to the geological structure within its territory. .....................

............The Russian team, from the Oceanology Research Institute in St Petersburg, estimates that the Lomonosov ridge area in the Arctic contains oil and gas reserves of up to 10bn tonnes.

They returned to Murmansk on Monday
    ..................
    http:// news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6242736.stm

If the Russians can prove that the "continental shelf is related to the geological structure within their territory....", they are legally entitled to that land. End of story.

Russia is not even in the running for a mini-super power. China, Korea, and Iran put Russia into that 3rd world category when it comes to everything from their economy to their military... The only thing they share in common is their totalitarian dictatorial mindsets, but that never got anyone anywhere before.

slight problem here, the antarctic is a land mass, the arctic has no land. not even 1 square mile of land.
therefore it should come under international waters and that means no-one can own it.

i read it, and the continental plates are not going to be an acceptable marker to rights to international waters.

for example, the north American continental shelf splits the west coast of Scotland between the European continental shelf and the north American continental shelf.
by that definition the USA can lay claim to the west coast of scotland and we are talking the land mass, not something out to sea, you can jump from the European continental shelf on to the north American continental shelf in the west coast of Scotland without getting your feet wet.
