What's up with google images?

I had 503 images indexed on google images yesterday,so i woke up today to check again and it went down to 66 images.
Will the 503 images come back or not?

 

it is hard to say. it happened in my site too.

 

When did it happen to you,and do you have a feeling that it will return?

 

How did you know you have that many indexed? Surely you don't check each one by hand every day.

 

When you search for a domain in google images,you get a result like this:
Results 1 - 18 of about 66
So that means there are 66 images indexed.

 

Anybody else who can help me with this?

 

What command would I use? I've tried site:website.com but for some reason it even comes up with images from different domains. I'm stumped.
