Not sure whats going on here. He doesn't rank for his own name or title tag. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Make+Money+Online+With+John+Chow+dot+Com&btnG=Search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=John+Chow&btnG=Search I hope this is a temporary thing, he deserves to rank for John Chow more than anybody else. Google dropped text link ads last week as well.
omg.. his also nowhere the top ten for "make money online" maybe because most of his blog post now are paid reviews????
I could understand if he dropped for a competitive keyword but a penalty so severe that he doesn't rank for John Chow is pretty harsh.
sorry to hear that. but glad to know that I am not only one having this problem. I should have at least 5 keywords in the top 10, but htey are all gone, drop to 200 something. I got this problem for almost a month. now most of my traffics are from live.com, msn and yahoo, I thought this just gonna be temporary, I guess i need to concentrate on link building again.
well i hope he doesn't get his adsense account banned. what could be the reason for such a very harsh penalty... maybe he did something blackhat... i still think he deserves to rank even just for his name. i like his blog a lot. all useful information.
all big bloggers selling text link, john chow is not hte only one. I understand google got a good reason to stop it. but really , thats how htey make money, its big part of their income
not it happens there was a SERPS update recently and many sites gained positions while some dropped. This is not a case of getting dumped or banned. It will be alright in some weeks time.
is very harsh indeed, although he is being rather blatant about selling blog posts... think this could be a warning message out to everyone
if you search like this http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...US:official&hs=z5B&q=johnchow.com&btnG=Search with his domain name you will see his website at top but no description and no cache link button.. whats happening?
It's almost as if he's tipped some sort of threshold in the algorithm. You have to admit - some of his activities could be construed as spammy. Consider the link back to your blog in exchange for a "review". Have you read what he expects from the review? Link back to him with "make money online". After that, he doesn't particularly care what you do. BTW - This is not new. This John Chow thing started with him dropping for the phrase "make money online". Now, his latest batch of "reviews" includes instructions to link back to him with a choice of phrases and not just "make money online". Love to hear what people think about this "review" strategy. Regards, Robert
He is still in the google search engine but not at the top or front page. http://www.shoemoney.com/serps.php He is on page 48 for the search term "john chow" and page 46 for "make money online"
