Rounded corners on adsense ads, when did that become a feature?

    I agree with everyone:
    • They look really great
    • It can make ad blending difficult

    IMO, compared to the old options, these will actually make some sites look better :)

    An update on my earlier comment about the effect of these ads on CTR. I changed some ads from borderless with a white background (the same as the page) to round corners, light colour background, that contrast with the page.

    After testing for 24 hours on a whole site section, the results are less clear than before. The CTR for that channel is very slightly down on average, but only slightly and it is within the 'normal' range, so it looks as if perhaps it neither increases or or decreases income for me.

    If that's the case the new format can stay, since it looks better. But I won't roll it out across other parts of the site until I have tested for a week or so to get definite results.

    Worth trying if it suits the look of your site, I think.

    you could try changing the top 336*280 to be a light blue background with borders in the same blue as the menu background, and very rounded corners.

    Goes against what you've read about blending I expect but worth a try I think. The visitors eye should be drawn to the 'splash of colour'.
