about 4 months ago i wondered the same thing, before anyone else gets a chance to tell you. backlink like crazy, pref not the 'no follow' kind. try to get 40 a day and you can probably make it in on time.... and 'get' some PR6+ link

You don't want to get nofollow links. Those essentially won't be followed by the search engines and counted as a backlink for PR value.

I am offering Stumble bookmarks. See my signature for details. I hope that can bring some traffic and backlinks to help in increasing your sites pagerank.

you are trying to state, one must get a good # of back links. and keep on trying to increase the #? if back links are proved to have a good alexa rating then what about TRAFFIC
    i think
Alexa rating must = Good Traffic + Back Links....

PR matters quite a bit if you earn your money through private ad sales, so it's definitely important. It might not matter if you only earn from things like adsense, but that's rarely the smartest option. You should always diversify your income streams, and quite often private ad sales will earn you a good bit more than contextual ad networks. Just to give you an example... I had a site hit PR6 during the last update... it went very quickly from making low $xxx / month to low $xxxx / month. PR definitely doesn't mean nothing. It might just mean nothing to you... big difference. Advertisers still care quite a bit.

If I had $1 for every minute of my life that I cared about anything to do with Alexa, I'd still be waiting for my first $1.

    PR has always meant something.

It matters, because the world is filled with site owners who buy advertising and trade advertising based on PR.

As to raising it up, get QUALITY links. Try to get links coming in from very-related sites. Build up your content, because that's the easiest way to get free links. Unless of course you have two-cent content, then forget that idea.
