there's a high chance its spam or the owners didn't realize that they had to pay.... duh

anyway for spam, a new mod was released not too long ago by dvduval that allows u to use keywords to determine spam submissions. Might help reduce the numbers

Thiers a very high chance its spam..
They didnt want to pay to get thier sites listed and blatently disregarded the
payment because THEY KNOW that thiers chance for error and they might get in...

Do you really think i want Keywords involved? For what?

Dont get me wrong im not knocking davids mod, Im just saying i want and will have a perminent fix...

I dont want the spam submission ever even being sent to my inbox period :D

    thx

    Isn't that a Park Page ??

Anyway, to the OP, I think you can pretty much guess if its just an other spam submission or a valid link without payment because sometime it can happen for many reasons....

I do contact the submitter before deleting the link if I get such a submission. (I only got the reply once)

I guess the new updated mod might have something in there about this, but its just tedious to delete all the spammers that come to the directory. I know which ones are spammers, so its a little easier, but oh well! Thanks guys for the feedback!

Many non-paying submissions could be stopped if directory owners listed the term of the link clearly. More than a few times I have filled out the submission to see the fee being charged yearly when I thought permanent or even monthly when I thought at least yearly.

I just delete the non payers, and use a small mod to ban some specific ips....
like : SPECIFIC URL.sblog.cz....... which was one big spammer on my directory.

Serious buyers typically pay originally. I leave em around if I'm bored maybe email them. (Done once or twice, no results so don't do it anymore). Just delete them. If they want it they'll submit back. If not you get overloaded with the stuff:)

Spammers are a double edged sword.

Spam SUcks! - But if you aren't getting spammed your not doing something you should.... Spammers come with traffic like a cough comes with smoking.

Very true statement Dubz. I guess I am doing something right then because I get a good amount of spam per day!

Yip he got his free link alright... ;)

It just gets to the point were you send emails and they just keep submitting regardless that burns me up...
ohh well, im almost done with the 50+ database transfers so that will give silky some time to try and figure out the combo for the new mod and off course a test run on 1 for a week or so make sure everything is cool... :)
