Simple questions - am looking for a bit of feedback pro and con. Please answer if your directories require validated registration and if you submit to directories that do so.

    Thanks.

I won't submit to ones that do.

I did and got ALOT less submissions than before.

Just install SPAMGUARD and you're cool.

Forget the image verification and the user accounts IMO.

I don't bother submitting to directories that require registration. It annoys me. I also don't submit to directories that require too much information--I just move on.

Image verification also ticks me off. I get the need for something, but seriously, is it a test that I'm a human, or that I am skilled at interpreting wiggly lines?

I never submit to any directory that requires you to register first. I also do not require anyone to register first on any of my directories.

This may be referring to Rob's (an0n) spam guard. I know even using image verification and everything else I could think of I was still getting hammered with daily spam. After installing the spam guard I get ZERO.

To answer the original question, I have never required registration nor have I submitted to a directory that does. If I run in to a directory requiring it I simply leave.

Registration is optional in my directory. They can submit link with or without registration.
It just to make thing easy for user that has many listing, also there are some features that can only accessed by members.

mind dont have it, and I wouldn't submit to a directory that requires registration, unless its a very powerful directory. (or unless I'm paying a large fee for the submission).

I don't submit to any directory that requires you to register first, also images verification with Wiggly Letters are really annoying. Once it took me 15 mins just to get past one :D

I do spend little time on directories, but when I do I want to submit fast and with no issues. That;s why I don't submit when I have to reciprocate the link, pay or create an account. That's why I don't request these either

We tried the registered user route and was not pleased with the results - submissions fell off as a result. I'm put off by directories that require me to register prior to submitting a site. Free or paid. There's too many that do not.

Anything you can do to streamline the submission process is a plus. Just the captcha alone is enough for some to pass on submitting.

When I'm paying a fee I don't want any added difficulty in giving someone my money. I'd just assume give it to someone else.

    do 1 require reg: No
Do i submit if reg is required: yes( if strong directory & very high PR)

Some of the best directories I've come accross require registration, and I certainly wouldn't let that stop me from getting into them, however, my directories are too new for that

No, I do not require. I very rarely submit when registration is required. It would have to be a significant directory in most cases.

I would not invest time into submitting a site when I'm not guaranteed approval.

However, I would consider registering if the site offers enough benefits.

I do not ask for any registration prior submission and I think I only registered to a couple of sites my whole life (none of them directories) :)
