Constructive criticism for my website pls!

I currently submit maybe 10+ videos to my blog every day and use Digg.com and Stumbleupon to get some exposure. These methods get me a burst of visitors for maybe 2 hours, and then trickle down to maybe 1-5 hits a week. NONE of the visitors click my AdSense. How can I slowly but surely get more steady traffic coming to the site? Any criticism would be greatly appreciated. This blog is updated daily and is my 100% focus with a friend. We're willing to try anything for a few months. If the site grows, we won't stop. :D

    Regards,
    Yodies

    1. Leave your site name last in your title rather than first.
    2. You dont have a META description.

Any ideas for slowly building up more traffic?

What type of links are you referring to, Paid links? or just submit my site to 1000s of directories?

Nice site but your adsence in not irritating enough :)
You might want to break up your videos occationally with an ad, probably a banner ad wold work best because you are already focusing on the images.

Your eye tracks straight down the list of videos and doesn't really move to the right side (where your ads are), at least not beyond the text talking about the videos. Move your ads to where peoples eyes track.

It will take time, keep patience, add some unique content alongside the videos and don't stick with only that two social bookmarking sites, there are plenty SN sites are there to spread your content, try to get associated alongwith them as well. :)

    Relevant links.

If you are starting up.. maybe submit to some directories, no need 1000 ... just get a list of strong directories and submit to the good ones.

Then write a few articles and submit to article sites.

Maybe try out some social bookmarking sites.

Stumbleupon maybe good for your niche.

Generally, take a look around Dp and get some ideas on free links.

If you want to go for paid, its up to you.

You can't expect to get clicks and revenue right away, when you don't have enough visitors to your website.
Try focusing on SEO to get your site indexed better, as well as link exchange and submissions. Publish articles with links to your website on the net, spread links in Social Bookmarking websites (There are alot of them around).

Hope that helps you a bit.

Digg traffic is going there to see the content. They rarely click ads.

Also, they hate it when people submit links to blogs that just have embedded videos from other sites such as YouTube or MetaCafe. They want people to link directly to the videos in Digg articles. That's why visitors from those sites trickle down fast. It doesn't take long to get a direct link to the video in the comments and everyone uses that instead of going to your blog.

You need to do more than just "blogspam" Digg to get visitors. You need to consistantly find buried gems on video hosting sites.

If the visitors aren't sticking then you just need to improve your content.

The bright colors are pretty offensive to the eyes. You may want to tone it down a bit.

The background, in my opinion, is alright. But the oranges could use to be muted a bit, they're a tad shiny. I also agree that the top AdSense ads aren't by any means annoying enough.. I actually had to look for them :)

I'm also feeling a lack of content with the amount of whitespace on the index. Maybe 2 columns of video would fix that.

    Just my input :)

Your Adsense couldn't be in a worse place. Most of your visitors will probably click away before they even see it. You need your main block of ads on the left.

Consider just putting one post on a page, and adding some content with the videos. It is the content that Google will use to find relevant, targeted ads.

Group the videos into categories to make it easier for people to find what they are interseted in.

I agree with toning down the colours.

You really need to add a lot more content to each of your posts! Search engines can't search a video, they can only search through the text that you write.

I would start writing your opinions about each video - try to write 200 words for each video.

As already mentioned, you need to highlight the Adsense Ads if you really want them to be clicked. Also, I'd suggest you make the website more interesting, highlight some popular videos in the left or right navigation. Add some polls or anything to engage the users. The main page only has 5 posts displayed at a time which is less IMO. Increasing the number can actually make the users see more stuff and encourage them to browse around for more things.

So the site looks NOTHING like it originally did when I first posted this thread.

The text at the top will be changed to an image later tonight.

We hit a few dig stories in the last 2 days and our traffic shot from 400 uniques a day to like 25,000+. I'll be needing new hosting soon, pls pm me if you have any suggestions for 1000+ gig or unlimited hosting plans.

Ok, let me cut to the chase now. My new theme was suggested to me by some DP members because it was SEO and adsense optimized. My CPM is abysmal. I'm talking like sub .8% (Is that against the TOS of adsense? I can remove it if yes). I've heard digg.com users don't click, but is it honestly that low ? I've heard of people getting like 6% CPM. I'd be on a roll if I could bump mine up. Pls dp! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
