I've been using Namecheap almost exclusively for over a year now, with very few problems. However, I'd like to spread my domains over 3 registrars in the future - eggs, baskets, that sort of thing. Can anyone recommend a good registrar? The ones I've tried in the the past are GoDaddy (nice if you enjoy being bombarded with upgrade offers while you're trying to get a domain registered), Spry (useless), a GoDaddy reseller called HostingDude, and Moniker. I have one domain registered with Moniker, which was going to be my second 'serious' registrar. However, this morning I couldn't log on to my account with either my user name or my account number. Doesn't bode well. So.. does any other registrar even approach Namecheap's combination of ease of use, price etc? Derrick
www.domainsite.com @ $6.99 first year then $7.99 2nd year. Very clean interface with no advertising. www.mydomain.com is owned by Dotster, has the same backend, and has $8.50 pricing.
I like godaddy, they have bulk registering to register say 5-500 domains at once, which is nice for the special occasion when you are register 30-50 or so domains (hey, it has happend to me before). I just click no thanks once, quick checkout, and bam, past all the godaddy free offers. Personally I think godaddy is easy, lists all my domains in a nice row even though I have 500+, so I dont have to go through countless pages, etc. very nice. Thanks. Joe!
I'm transferring all my domains to Moniker with no problems. Already have 200 there. Contact customer support to find out why you cannot login.
Thanks for all the replies. Login, the reason for using more than one registrar is to spread the risk to my business. When I get to the point where more than three of my sites actually make money, I would like them to be registered with 3 different service providers. The same applies to hosting (only more so). That way, if any one service provider bombs out, it won't affect more than a third of my income. Well, that's the theory, anyway. Derrick
If you register with a popular registrar like namecheap or godaddy, they are unlikey to go out of business anytime soon - so dont worry dude...
stick to namecheap as it easier to keep tabs of your domains. Godaddy are dreadful and not as user friendly.
I have domains with following Registrars... Directi --> My own reseller account, reliable and very cheap eNom --> Almost stopped usint them but still have some domains under my reseller account GoDaddy --> All domains registered through Registerfly has been shifted to GD 60% of my domains are with Directi / resellerclub the rest are with GD
I have got domains in 11 different registers and i hate it. But because i trade in alot of domains i need accounts at them all for ease of accepting pushes. For a normal person, Namecheap is all you need.
Well, I haven't ever used them, but idotz.net have cheap .cn names. But otherwise, I'm very happy with NameCheap, and GoDaddy isn't too bad.
