Until now I've done all of my site coding myself. I want to start building some more advanced software into some of my sites now however + am interesting in hiring a coder to do so. I just want to find out how it ussually works, do you give them full access to your site and databases or just send them your script files? How do you know the coder won't pinch your work/ideas?
I am using a coder right now hes very good hes creating a custom cms for me write now. I am confident he wont pinch my code because he has projects of his own that are amazing, he will contact you by phone and runs a business so hes def good guy to work with. Prices aren't bad either
I normally use people who have aim, msn, and take the initiative to instant message me after I post something. I have come across a good seo, and coder just posting a job and they came to me and were asking me questions. So they kind of stuck out
Send him the script files, he can make it work temporarily in some web host and once you test it to be working, upload it in your actual website, delete all contents from temporary web host.
eLance.com is another option worth checking out. In addition, you can even look for a good coder here on DP. Tho, if you do that - be aware of his/hers reputation score, aswell as his iTrader stats. Make sure you choose someone who is experienced and had done a lot of jobs for decent prices.
