There is no way to predict that. It would depend on how many people find your link interesting and clicks on it. It does provide back links to your site though.

 

yeah, spam backlinks. I wonder if one day google can penalize this kind of backlinks..I hope not

 

It depends on how many posts that person makes. For example even if a person has million posts, you'll get no traffic if he makes no new posts because in DP a thread can go to the backpages in a matter of hours.

 

Good captions can get great traffic !
My last signature " Indian Celebrities " was getting great traffic from DP !

 

Of course, if you post in the sections that are relevant to your signature, then you will receive more traffic as opposed to just posting in the GC. It always varies.

 

Yeah the key to getting clicks is having great anchor text that also appears as interesting to forum visitors/members.

Yes, clicks on your signature depends on topic relevancy. In addition, other factors includes:

1. Signature design (colors, fonts etc)

2. The quality of the particular post.

3. Your real reputation in the forum.

In my experience, I receive more than 500 clicks per month to my SEO site.

Sigs work best when they are topically appealing to the community you are posting on. Other factors can increase your sigs CTR some of which I discuss HERE.

Though the rest of KC TAN's post is pretty much enough...

Maybe, but if you keep posting like the one I quoted, your traffic may not be so hot. You see this is a thread on traffic from sig links, not backlinks from signatures.

Though, to answer you question a bit better, it really depends on many factors. Like how many times you post in a given thread, how many of your posts are indexed, and what method you are using to find backlinks. Google may count one or two, Yahoo may count 100 or so... I'd reccomend that you search for your answer in a more applicable thread.

Though, if people find your other 199 posts useful, you may find that members here will check out your sig links, and if the landing pages are worth reading, you may find that some members here will refer to your sites with additional links.

So whatever your reason for having a link in your sig, you should find that it does more help then harm!

 

I will say that it will depend on the activity of the user instead of just postcount . What if he has high postcount but dont post anymore then you can expect traffic from only old threads and DP is big active forum and lots of new threads show up everyday .

But if you post 20-30 quality posts a day you will get some traffic.

However if you buy a signature and the user is not posting regularly here on DP, I doubt you will get any traffic. But it's still good for fast indexing and SE boost.

 

I have posted about 40 posts, and I put my link on yesterday, made a few posts and went to sleep. I checked my analytics this morning and I have 15 clicks from DP. It is not much at all, but I didn't think that I would get any from my sig.

 

I'm at the halfway point for 1000...I will say I get a decent amount of clicks from DP if my post is quite relevant and useful. But it all depends on the topic really, at least I think.

 

And how did you monitor that?

 

I think the most important factor is if you start the thread....You will get traffic if you start the thread..coz it gets the most visibility......

 

I get about 250 visitors per month, though I do purchase a couple of other signatures. I think in all it totals about 15 posts per day (average).
