I am having a lot of problems with my investment in Adwords. I'm not getting ROI. On my pannel, all my keywords have a label that say the keyword is inactive, and I need to bid $2.50. It's for web hosting, and if I bid $2.50, it's way too high for web hosting. What do you think? I'm targetting rare keywords, I'm not targetting keywords like "web hosting" for instance.
The minimum bid is set depending on the Minimum Bid Quality Score. Your MBQS is determined according to your landing page quality and relevance, your advert text relevance, your clickthrough rate (taking into account your position in the results) and your matching type. To improve this: 1) Put the keyword in the advert, ideally in the title. 2) Write compelling adverts that people want to click on. 3) Match on exact match, phrase match and (if you want to) broad match. 4) Improve your landing page - there's another discussion on what they are looking for now (since they've recently changed their requirements).
The keywords you're bidding on, should be closely related to the landing page that a visitor will see after they clicked your ad. If they're not related, your bidding price will go up. Does this help? Case

To my delight, I discovered prepending the word "cancel" to keyword trigger phrases significantly boosted the number of qualified leads to my client's landing page. This makes sense, actually... if someone is ready to cancel their web hosting service, odds are good they're frustrated and actively looking for a replacement... ...
