How well does blog traffic normally convert for adsense?

it depends on your traffic, on the source of the traffic, on the content of the blog....

So nobody can tell you! :) You just have to go and try it.

I don't think there is a difference between blog and normal site, there are other factors which decide that

If you have very good content rich in keywords and a good niche, you can turn some good revenue with a lot of traffic. However, it depends on many factors. Best thing is to keep your blog updated daily with original content and advertise like crazy.

Niche and relevance will have a great bearing on clicks.

I have a building blog that has very relevant ads -- if you're interested in the post then you'll be interested in the ads -- which achieves good results despite not being very optimised for adsense.

I have a cookery blog that sucks as the ads are crappy ... mainly diet related so not of great interest for people looking for recipes ...

Well, I think a blog is no different to a site in terms getting clicks. It depends on contnet, ad optimization, etc.

    I second that.
In the end it's just as performant as a "normal" website

Blogs are hard to earn on because it is usually the same reader every single day coming back. However, you can easily make money on a blog if you are writing good content, are ranked relatively well on the search engines, and your ads are blended. Oh wait, that sounds like the rules for ANY site. :p
