How much time do you spend for your directory daily ?

Hello,

I saw that some of you have great web directories, high PageRank, high prices, high traffic,etc.In other words you have high expectations from your web directories.Since I started my web directory I saw that you need to spend serious amount of time in front of your computer to keep thinks improved.I think that if you have a lot of money and you can buy some good backlinks and spend something on advertising,the road to succes is a little easier.
I am wondering, how much time did you invest in your web directory ? If you didn't get the results you expected...was it because of the time or because of your knowledge in this business ?
The first time I installed my directory was for fun ... I wanted to test the phpld to be sincere... and then... after I saw that the registrations were 15-20 since the day 2 or 3...I was amazed.
My time for my own web directory is so limited because I have 3 jobs ( think I wil quit one of them cause I got home so tired... ) and I am curios about you guys.. how can you manage ? do you have jobs also ? is the directory your only job ? are you happy about the income ? is it worth ?

I have currently 1 directory that I have released for public, another 2 will I publish when I finish seodir.net. I am still studying at school so I do not have much time for internet but I try to do my best. My directory isnt currently high quality directory, I have about 8k links only, and I do not want where to find other. All free directories (most o fthem) that are published on DP already contain my link. I also do nto get much submission, but after I add custom template and got more than 10 k backlinks that will change. I wish you great income and much success with your directories guys!

 

I saw I guy from Turkey who had 6 directories ... 1 x PR6 and 5 x PR5 ... now that was something...


SEOdir : will a custom template bring you the success ? I didn't understant... what was the thing about those 10k links after the template change ?

By the way : how did you got your PageRank ? buying links ? or link exchanges with friends, publicity, etc

I mean a quality directory isnt only strong backlinks etc, you need to add sme good features, options etc... therefor I want to add custom template and some more interessant pages. Then I will search for more backlinks.

I spend 12-18hrs per day in front of my computer --working on my directories.

 

How old are you ?

 

I spend all my time on website and directories, expect 6-8 hours sleeping time.

 

I spend a good couple hours a day on my 4 directories (one to be released soon)

 

I have 10 directories and spend about 8 hours per day on submission approval, promotion...

I agree with Pete, 24x7 hard work make your directory powerful.

Investment is necessary, no money out no momey in, we are not QBC.

Not full-time directory owner --I am just part-time.

I am a full-time teacher. But my teaching job requires only 2 hrs of my time per day for 4 days ( manipulated the ROUTINE that came out recently by buying some TEA to those who made it) -- and 3 hrs per day for 2 days.

After that I have nothing else to do --So just log-on and keep on working --experimenting --analyzing --and working on my directories

@ Upper-- I am now 32+

 

i guess i spend most of my time on the directories, like 10-12 hours a day! right now my main focus is on the bidding web directory, which takes about 10 hours of my time daily. hope the results will come on the next pr update!

 

I spend around 5-6 hours daily on my directories, and my partner also does the same.
So there is always someone online for the best part of a day, and we try to review submitted sites and answer email within hours. This is I think our strongest feature. Fast response.
Right now we are waiting for the next PR update as we have invested a lot to build backlinks, and after that we will look for custom templates to strengthen our directories even more.

 

I probably only spend about 4 hours per day on my directory and other sites, but I do have a full time job during the day so it gets hard for me, but Overdrive Directory is doing well, so I cannot complain!

I spend alot of time, however the time is also bleeding into DP and other factors. So I'm always working and thinking but often looking at something else. How's that? It takes lots of time though.
