I spend about 30 minutes a week on stumbleupon. It brings at least 2 conversions a week, so totally worth it in my opinion.
I appreciate the compliment, but it is undue. I don't believe I have done anything "special" to make it convert. I just log every other day or so, reply to my messages, post a few stumbles related to my market, post in the discussion, and add fans as friends. The conversions were just something I noticed reviewing Analytics for the month. I will say that I have not personalized the page. I have my #1 sought keyword as my user name, and I sponsored a group with the same name. The entire profile is geared torwards my market, and has nothing "actually" about me. Pretending to be a girl probably doesn't hurt either
Well the first time I tried Stumbleupon they said my web site was too boring...or something like that. I built a new one on eBay (see sig file). No cool pics but the concept might work on stumble. I might even blow 20 bucks on ads to give it a quick test.
stumbleupon worked for me on day 1, i ran traffic on my arcade site and started to stumble a few individual games. it's ranked 4th already from my traffic links.
for the last 1-2 Weeks I'm getting over 3000 Visitors/day from Stumble Upon also on last Thursday it peaked 8000 UV So yea it works but I have to agree that it is just temporary traffic
3k visitors A DAY??? Whoa, can I ask what type of site it is? Thanks! Also, how many stumble exchanges are you doing; a billion? haha
3k a day?!? That's pretty good going. The best I've achieved is around 1k in a single day and then it tailed off but, as I mentioned earlier, the benefit was that I increased RSS count as a direct result. 3k...Hmmm....Methinks I need to go off and make some new SU friends
I've encouraged stumbling on my forum and have added a stumble button to the threads...though I do not think it gets used all that much. Though, I have tracked a few threads via the thread views and some have gotten over 600 views, which is over 500 more then similar threads. I give the difference to StumbleUpon. At one point I even had 74 guests viewing one thread. I think I may need to play the rest of the game there then... heh, Pink hat SEO
Them staying for 2 seconds is not that much at all. I have manged to get around 1 in every 15 - 20 clickthru from the landing page to other pages. It's about category for this visitors. If you have not got what they want then they will not stay. They are mainly looking for funny entertaining stuff.
