weird. i just read he killed his wife/son on sunday and killed himself on monday? wwe had the police look into them after some strange text messages? http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8Q0KO801&show_article=1 Just got worse:
ooh!!!.... really sad this is.....i saw him some 2-3 times on the telivision...though not a fan of them...but still very bas to hear this!! []
There are reports circulating now that Benoit may have strangled his wife early in the weekend, before smothering his son in bed on Sunday; and then hanging himself. Apparently the involvement of Steroids is being investigated. (This is all coming in through Associated Press rather than just random gossip - but is still unconfirmed) The only confirmed info is that it wasn't a shooting, or a stabbing, and that there is no third-party suspect. WWE have pulled all the tributes etc they had to him on their website, as well as removing all of his merchandise from their stores.
Yeah lets all blame 'steroids' wow talk about something the government is going to use. If he ever used them they will make certain to link this horrible act to them, being their new poster boy for anti drug/anti steroid commercials. Sometimes people just snap, doesn't = it being something he may or may not have been on.
If it turns out that he did kill his wife and his young son then I should hope that there will be no tributes. That would be insanely wrong. You can't honor the memory of someone that murdered a child in cold blood. But until we learn what happened and the results of the autopsy it's just speculation at this point. Still it does fit the pattern of other men that go insane and kill their families, doesn't it?
Yes they are, but yet again because someone snaps this does not = the facts behind the case. Otherwise wow everyone who ever killed anyone who ever took steroids didn't do it, it was the rhoids.
I'm pretty sure that Benoit was probably messed up mentally before he ever took steroids. I love how everyone points the blame on them, when in reality it's the user's fault.
Aw crap. I just checked the news to see if anything new had been reported about the deaths and I found this story: By Greg Bluestein, Associated Press Writer | June 26, 2007 ATLANTA --Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his son before hanging himself in his weight room, a law enforcement official close to the investigation told The Associated Press on Tuesday. Authorities also said they are investigating whether steroids may have been a factor in the deaths of Benoit, his wife and their 7-year-old son. Steroid abuse has been linked to depression, paranoia, and aggressive behavior or angry outbursts known as "roid rage." "We don't know yet. That's one of the things we'll be looking at," said Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard. He said test results may not be back for weeks. Autopsies were scheduled Tuesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. I guess the WWE was informed and that is why the tributes were pulled from their website.
I'm not disagreeing. I think it's awfully quick for them to try and latch onto a "steroid" link to this. I think they do it to try and take away from the responsibility of him doing it himself. That's the way society works - its never his/her fault; its always something else that made him do it. Steroids will be his underlying cause, I'm sure. I've never really looked into roid-rage myself (I used to take steroids about 10 years ago), so I'm not sure how real the phenomena is.
I know you weren't I was posting in response to the news story, others posts, the general 'rhoids did it'. I've never taken them myself besides legal over the counter supplements, so I personally have no idea. I have read articles, watched vids, etc that show and prove most of the governments stances are BS on the subject. That's about the extent of my knowledge. No matter what, even 'raged' a bit to do what he did IMO was he himself, not any use or rhoids or not.
ouch.this is such a terrible news for me.because I'm the greatest fan of chris benoit.he is my one of the favorite.I'm very sad at this moment.
Just heard about this on the sky sports news channel in the uk, they showed the press conference which broke the news that benoit had killed his family members and then himself
