I'd never buy a (Found On Roadside Dead, or Fix Or Repair Daily) car :p

I've owned 2 Fords and much like all american cars out there from personal experience I consider them to be garbage.

You can beat a VW or Honda and she will still take care of you. If you try to do the same with an american car she will deifnitely NOT be there for you for too long :)

Also I don't plan shifting past 5500 RPM too often lol but I will state that honda engines are known for high reving... This is why so many throw turbos into their Honda's simply because the engine are made to take the extra revs without a problem.

Thanks for you input and your wish of good luck! I'm taking alot of precautions this time around when buying a car and I'm hoping with a little luck on my side that I will end up with a nice practical reliable car that won't leave me stranded!

In Quebec where I am the license plate costs go up based on engine size.

    It's 255$ a year to plate a 2 litre 4 cylender. to plate a 5.7 litre V8 its 455$ crazy eh!

To plate a speed bike in quebec they just brought in new regulations where you will pay upwards to 1300$ a year to plate the bike!

Hehehehe you know I agree with you 100% on everything except for the lack of power. 200HP under the hood is good enough for me especially coming from a 4 cylender!

If I want raw torque or muscle power then I'd be looking for a muscle car that would eat gas like mad hehehe

    Do you like your Prelude??

Oh yes it get's great milage to the tank!

I think I saw 260km as the top speed on the speedometer. Not that I'd ever push it to 260km / hour to find out mind you lol

Why not? their is nothing like maxing out at Top Gear. I didn't own a single car that has not being taken to that limit several times :D But hey I'm a speed freak. :p

HEHEHE Believe me dood I know exactly where you are coming from :) I used to do a constant 180km / hour from Ottawa to Toronto. It should be a 4 - 5 hour drive I'd do it in 3 :)

Ottawa to Montreal is at minimum a 2 hour drive I've done it in an hour and ten minutes.

But you see I've decided that I want this car to last for at least 10 years. I will probably only drive it this first winter and then never winter drive it again.

So aside from parking it in the winter I see myself being pretty easy on it when driving.

So I went to the dealership with the car today!

Got the compression checked and all looks good :) The dealership let me go in to the garage while it was up on a lift so that I could check out the undercarriage.

The car has definitely been undercoated for the years that it was driven in the winter. The undercarriage looks mint. No rush anywhere! Engine is so clean in this car.

Looks like tomorrow I'll be meeting the girl whos selling it to give her a nice big fat cheque lol

Then I'm off to the license bureau to register the car into my name and pay them their taxes!

Ohhhhh it shall be quite the fun day tomorrow.

I've read tons of reviews about this car and anyone whos driven one absolutly falls in love with them. I even read a couple riviews where the posters stated that they had own Vettes and PREFER the Prelude over the vettes they had.

One guy wrote about hwo he prefers his Prelude over his BMW 325i. lol

I've added a few more pics of preludes to this post just to give some of you a better idea of how this car looks.

don't put any kind of aftermarket exhaust (the ones that sound like farts and have huge exhaust pipes)...for one, the noise is stupid, second, they really don't help, and third the large exhaust opening will leave exhaust soot all over your bumper that is impossible to get off...if you want performance, make it SEEM stock without it being stock...i.e., only work on the engine.

Bah.. all this excitement for a Honda. Why would you get a shitbox like this when you can get for the same price range a Nissan Maxima. Which is 100x better looking inside and has more power.

Congratulations on getting debt free. Hopefully you won't be going back into debt to buy this car. Dude it's a car, there's no need to be so defensive about what you like. We all have our own budgets and likes and dislikes in cars. If someone doesn't like what you like, there's no point in getting upset about it.
A car is a personal choice an preference. If we all liked the same thing, what a boring world that would be. Plus a lot of people are just jerks.

Honda's are great cars. They run forever and they don't depreciate in value as quickly as a lot of cars. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

Just out of curiosity what were you driving previously?

LOL believe me man I know exactly what you are saying :p

The car I bought the girl that owned it actually did put on one of those exhausts and Ill be changing it ASAP I hate that shit to tell you the truth.

LOL not really defensive :) I just love this particular honda. Before this I owned a CRX for about 5 years kitted it out dropped a ZC under the hood, new air intake, 16" beautiful rims :)

I agree with you 100% and believe me I have not been upset over anything anyone has said in the thread.

Right now the car is mine and its getting a new windshield put in. In 2 hours Ill be brining it to a few friends to show them my purchase!

After a day and a half of owning the car all I can say is that I'm in love and I totally understand why people wrote in reviews that they prefer the Prelude over corvettes that they had owned and one guy even said he prefered it over his BMW 321i :D:D:D

Everyone has their own tastes all I can say is if you get behind the wheel of one of these youll fall madly in love with how it handles and how much power it has :)

Congrats, opinions are like asses everyone has one, what counts is what you think ;). I'm personally with you though, I love honda (especially type r and vtec versions), their small cylinder hightech engines kick ass. Hit that baby up past the 6rpm and let the VTEC music and emotions behind. :) Enjoy it man!

Dood I bought the car last week and I'm already 100% madly in love with it :)

At 5200rpm the VTEC kicks in and I leave em in the dust.

The car looks and feels amazing and the handling is the best I've ever seen!

I'm extremely happy with my purchase!

It wasnt that expensive either! I'll have it paid off in a year.

I love the look of it. The VTEC engine kicks ass :) The comfort is awesome and the handling is out of this world.

Read up some reviews on this car and youll see what people who own them say about them.

I have never driven a car that handles this well and when at 5200rpm the VTEC kicks in its like en extra boost of power that gives you a great passing ability :)

With 70MPH speed limits here you might as well drive a 1.1 1984 fiesta unless you want to spank away £200/3 hours of track time.
