Someone tried charging my paypal debit card $3000!

Paypal just called me saying someone is trying to charge me $3000 ( yes thats 3-0-0-0 ) EVERY FIVE MINUTES! Since last wednesday!

Reps to Paypal for calling me to ask if I know about this....

 

What did paypal do to your account?

Ya thats really big. Good thing is that they called you before charging.

 

They cancelled my debit card and are sending me a new one So tahts what they did to the account/card.

 

Just make sure it was Paypal and not someone trying to scam you. You did not give out any account information or anything over the phone did you?

 

I am pretty darn sure it was PayPal because it was the same 800 number they had on the site! And they already knew all my account info...

 

ya be carefull id always ask them to prove that it was them dk how they would do that but i think they could

 

I hope you are correct, the newest scam going around is a software that fakes caller id. They call you as a company you deal with and get vital information about your account. It is rare for Paypal to call but if they did, I am impressed. I hope it all is taken care of for you.

 

Yes it is rare for them to call this is the only time and I've been a member for a few years now!

But I think I'm alright they seemed legit and I called the same number thats on their site.. ( they left a message )

snapplekid13, sorry this is an off topic question. If we want to apply for a PayPal debit card, do we have to supply them our SSN number?

No i don't think you need your SSN, you just need a comfirmed address.. which pretty much means a credit card linked to the address you want it sent too.

 

That's pretty impressive of PayPal to call you asking about the charges.

 

Yes it i simpressive but It may be because I've given them quite a bit of money over the years with all the money I send in and out XD

Also I am a Premier/Business member that may also be why...

 

Wow you are very lucky! And they must be a little stupid to keep trying to charge $3,000.00 over and over again. Maybe if they had tried smaller amounts it would have went through and paypal wouldn't have caught it!

 

Same old snapple who was banned from namepros for clickfraud come on now you never learn, lying to get people to like you or showing off isn't cool anymore. Anyone that believes your lil story I feel very sorry for them. your 14 how do you have a paypal account, and please your maybe because I send them money in and out is total BS.

 

Oh yea "click fraud" We were talking in chat about some companies tha didn't notice you clicking on it and I said "I know BannerBoxes.com doesn't thats why I would never advertise with them" Then I get banned.

Also I've been here since February, Not trying to impress anyone!
