I got links from a PR9 directory and --> from page 10 to page 1 in Google & revenue..

I have recently gotten several "free" links from a PR9 directory. It is highly authoritative, and rejects almost all submissions. Not a real directory though, more like a university website..

One day after I got the links, my site started to appear on the first page of Google for the keywords I was SEOing. They were on the 10th page one day before.

My adsense revenue tripled the next day, because in one day, search engine traffic doubled.

The lesson is that no matter how many directories you submit to, how many links you buy, etc., (OK. they will help), they will not help so much unless you have at least one authority link for your site to be trusted by Google. Once you have that authority link, I assume that your other links are also factored more into the algos.

It saves you a lot of time an headache when you get a link from a website with high PR.

Does this PR9 directory send you visitors?

 

oh yea no doubt that helped but not everyone can get a free PR 9 link back to their website

I fully believe it. Authority authority authority. Why do you think people are willing to pay $300 for a yahoo directory link even when they end up in some low PR category?
