Hey, I just found a little method to get free one-way &/or reciprocal links. (I Think I got it off this forum somewhere, so thanks to whoever it was that originally posted this) Anyways, click here. That will give you a list of links directories & web directories. Most of them do not require reciprocal links. If anyone else has any good methods for getting free one-way links, I'd love to hear about it. Adam
Another way to get one way links is to give away free product in exchange for them (assuming you have a product or service that costs you little or nothing to give away). I have one site that does this: click the "Free Zip Code Database" link in my sig to see how it works. It takes you to a form where you put in the page where you've posted a link to my site, then you can download your free database. I'm in the process of improving this. I'm still not checking to see if the page where they post the link is in Google's index already, and I'm also not yet requiring them to input their billing information so they can be invoiced if they take the link down within 6 months. All coming soon, but it does work great.
Barre Tire: Yes it pulls up MSN search. You are actually searching for a text string that is specific to a piece of software that many web directory sites are using. briandunning: Thanks! I've heard of that conceot before but never seen it used like you are.
It takes some time to go through it and it's not always accurate, but the ISEDB is a good resource. http://www.isedb.com/
Why don't use the proven established quality free directory lists such as the one from info vile silencer? http://info.vilesilencer.com/main.php?rock=seo-friendly.php
That was me! This does work well but you will get tons of results with no PR and get sites that people are just playing around with the free script. To find some quality sites to post your link to still does take some digging.
Thanks Aaron. One good thing about that directory script is it apparenty uses mod-rewrite, which ensures your links are crawl-able. It also seems to me (maybe others can prove/disprove me) that even when the se's crawl a db generated page (i.e. links.php?id=1234&cat+health) that the links on that page are less valuable.
I am usualy doing a search on google like keyword "add url" or keyword "add site" like sex "add url" webmaster resources "add url" I think you will get more links from related websites this ways... if you won't jump to much in SERPs (or until you will get at less #20 , #30) you may make little money because people interested will come to your website from others pages. Got me?!
www.link-trinity.com gives a slightly different spin on getting one way links... You do need to add a links page to your site, but in return you get one way links from multiple sites within the network - all for free!
I found this site to be pretty helpful: www.one-way-links-free.com It is just like the paid programs except it is free. You do have to give a link for each one you get, but you are never swapping links. Group one links to group 2; group 2 to group 3; group 3 to 1. You know the drill. They are newer so not a lot of links, but a good handful to start out with. All real sites with real content. One good thing is if you ever decide that you do not want to continue in the program - you do not lose your links. I signed up for a paid program a couple years back, and when he decided to make it an annual membership, you either had to pay annually for life or lose all the links! What a rip.
Thanks for sharing... Although most of the list are directory. By the way, you can submit also your site here; http://www.capehostpro.com/webdirectories.html
