TLD won’t play any role in SEO; however .com TLD is easier to remember than .info or even .net.

Obviously .com (generally). For SEO it doesn't matter.

    .com is better than .info
Reason: if you visitor wants to come again to your website then many people types www.xxx.com instead of www.xxx.info

TLD Don't have a role to play if it's .com or .info but yes for country Targetted SEO you need TLD of your country with the ip within your country (servers should be there in your country)

It is true that .com is better for marketing, but your domain name extension do not makes any difference for Google nor Yahoo.

Another consideration is that .info's are so cheap (.99c a lot of places) that adsense arbitragers were buying them up by the ton. A lot of legitimate webmasters were banning .info sites from their adsense entirely because 90% were spam.

So if your thinking about advertising with adwords I would go with a .com. In general its worth the extra $7.

am not sure about the .infos's, those has been widely abused by spammers so am alfraid there is a very little penalty for using .info's (am not sure we cant know this is just my opinion) and choosing a .info domain shows that the website is not serious, if you cant afford $7 to buy a .com how can google trust your website and business?

There are no difference between info and com TLD from the web crawlers point of view, but there are BIG difference from the visitors point of view.
Many internet users type dot com and remember better dot com instead of dot info (dot com is more organic from their view).

On the other hand, dot com domains will be good choice for commercial websites (selling/offering products/services), dot info domains will be better for no-commercial content like WIKI or communities etc.

I grab .com anytime over a .info, I probably wouldn't even want a .info for free, but in terms of SEO their is little difference to the "bots".

If it doesn't have a role, how come if you want country specific targeted SEO, it does play a role ?

in terms of search engines it doesn't matter, but .com is more of the "norm" so people would probably remember it easier and also it would be worth more (the domain)

Well, for SEO- I'd say it is a tie.

But for type-in, branding, and user trust, .com wins in most cases. The .info might be better if it makes sense- like cancer.info or chicago.info, in which case I'd buy both (if available)
