Articles = JUICY Backlinks!!

There are many ways to improve one’s search engine optimization campaign. Out of the myriad of the ways, article marketing is perhaps one of the best ways. It has a compounding factor that works even when you are not at the computer. And one article can bring in many backlinks for your website.

What is article marketing? Article marketing is simply writing articles about information related to your website and submitting them to various article directories around the web. By adding links back to your website in the resource box, you can add valuable backlinks to your website. You'd also want to make your articles 'keyword-rich', so readers can more easily find them and search engines can pick them up more easily.

Articles also make good ‘pre-sell’ tools for your website. Readers reading your article are looking for specific information, and you provide them with more information by asking them to click through to your link to find out more. Articles generally act as good ‘teasers’ for deeper information that you can provide to your readers. Be sure to provide good information in your article, and your readers will feel compelled to visit your site.

However, that’s not where the good stuff ends! Ezine owners will also grab your articles and publish them to their newsletter. This gives you even more backlinks without any additional work.

As you can see, submitting articles is a great no-cost way to get free, quality backlinks and generate lots of traffic to your website.

If this was posted in 2003 i would agree, however you are seriously behind the times. Writing an article and submitting to 100s of directories will bring little traffic or backlink power since Google tightened its supp index.

The last time i done this 6 weeks ago bought 2 visitors until today.

Article submission still help in terms of backlinks generation. However, traffic is not easy to come unless you have a great article.

Good articles and good content made with lots of visitors I agree! Otherwise it can be a waste!

 

While it doesn't bring as much traffic as it used to, article marketing still brings in some traffic and helps with seo. If you submit quality articles regularly and use the same anchor text in the resource box, it improves your position in the serp for that phrase. This is true even if the links are on a PR0 page or burried in the supplemental index. Try it for a couple of weeks and then check your ranking using a tool like Googlerankings.com. But you have to submit articles regularly (one or two a week).

The best thing to do is to combine article marketing with social bookmarking. Most article directories have bookmarklets that let users add the article to their favorite social bookmarking site (which further promotes your article). They also have RSS feeds so that your article may be read by more people than you really know.

 

The idea behind article mktg is not so much as to achieve the backlinks from the directories nor any traffic, since there isn't much traffic that it would derive anyhow and Google probably doesn't count those links anyway either.

The idea behind this method would be to see whether any other decent Pr'd authoritative sites pickup those articles so that you can contact them and offer them a different and unique article.

 

It's old now guys... Do you seriously think Google is not awake to such obvious attempts to gain backlinks?

 

Article marketing is still very power and popular.. I write and submit roughly 60-70 articles a week for my largest client in a HIGHLY competitive industry and he makes a killing. It definitely beats many other forms of marketing, as all it takes is your time.

 

If done correctly, article marketing can significantly help with SEO and traffic generation. I'm just a little confused as to why you were compelled to convey a lesson based on such a well-known and used concept. I suppose the newbies'll find it informative.

 

PR isn't everything. And Google takes into account more links than it shows using the link:domain function. It works if you do it properly. Submit well-written articles regularly with the same anchor text and watch your rank on that search term.

 

These seems like a silly debate. If you think it works, use it. If you don't think it works, don't use it...

 

What else are forums for

 

Just make sure your not submitting duplicate articles to different directories or the backlinks wont count.

I even saw them mention it a lot on cnn.com

You can submit a trillion garbage articles and bring in no traffic.
the trick to article marketing is by using uncompetitive keywords and send the traffic to your site.

these keywords will eventually build up, and your site will gradually get tons of traffic.

If you want quick results, start myspace marketing and forum posting.

Article marketing should be combined with other effective promotional methods ie. social bookmarking, ezines, syndication, etc., as everyone here already knows.

 

Article marketing = Submit Quality informative articles = good content = good results.
