What makes a good Link Detail page?

I've seen a lot of different features on link detail pages:
    Alexa stats
    Long description
    Google Map
    Comments and Rating

What makes for a good link detail page?
Anything that makes a link buyer find it more desireable?

Appearance wise, I think the larger thumb and the alexa stats makes for a nice looking page.

As far as pagerank, I think it would be most typical to see the category page outrank the detail page, so there may be more value from the buyer's perspective in the category page.

i personally think a comment rating system would be very useful. Again if you think about the purpose of a directory, its supposed to provide pre-screen relevant websites to the end user. a rating and comments system will further determine the relevancy of the site. just my 2c...

heres an example of a rating system

Google map is okay but the other three are a waste of time as they present the visitor with potentially false info.

    1. Alexa - Total crap, only as good as the users who can be bothered to install thier toolbar.
    2. Pagerank - Can mislead a person, e.g, Shop A might have better products that Shop B but have a lower page rank.
    3. Comments and Rating - unecessary gimmicks open to abuse by competitors.
    4. Google maps, can be useful in some niche's like Yell.com otherwise just another gimmick.
    5. Long description - A toughy, can be usefull but first page should offer that.

    Just my input.

i agree, with everything except the comments and rating section. :D
i believe all these site details is just wasted space and jibberish to the average web browser.

Looks pretty but imagine sites that have crappy Alexa, this might put off the visitor who might not realize alexa is a lot of toot. Get rid of gimmicks and stay relevant, that's why botw is so damn good and the rest fall miles behind. ;)

The idea is to agree to disagree sometimes, we ain't all going to have the same opinons, be a dull world if we did. :p

Only reason I don't like the rate and comment is anyone can abuse this and most competitors would if they could. :D

An Article submission and an added article on detail page would make it more attractive!

    Just like this

Why would it make it more attractive? What value would it give and do you have an example of what it looks like not what the submission page looks like?

i kind of support Pheonix though!

    1. Alexa can be manipulated easily, .... the comments and rating system, are an equal evil!

    2. PageRank ,.... no man, u cant fool that, agreed buying stuff has nothing to do with PR, PR is how well known your site is on the net, it like McDonalds Vs some mom-n-pop store!

    3. Google Maps ... u have to be kidding me, im in India, but my server is in US ... so where are my clients searching for me!!!:D

my short stint at making/ running a directory (17 days to be precise) i think a details page, as all pages, as recommended by major SEO artist, should be 2 clicks away from the index page! anything beyond that is too much work for the visitor and for the BOT!

the reason the A-Z listing is very important! where all your links are listed, perhaps a site-map even for the sites,.... making sure the BOTs have all the pages in!
    http://www.dir.vc/site_map_sites.php

I think a good details page will have all info required by the user to deal with that site!
    1. which category it belongs to, so w/o visiting the site, we know what type of site it is, beyond the verbiage given by the owner!
    2. i think the promote section is equally important, in the days of blogging! ready HTML code available for anyone to promote either your site, or the listing
    3. A Social Bookmarking, for reason above

    thats my list

    just like this:
