Completely dropped down the ranks. Can't quite figure the reason

    Hi,

My site www.bidburglar.com was up until recently doing very well in the SERPS ,I was getting top 5 rankings for some very competitive keywords.

But in the past week the site has disappeared and as a result I'm hardly getting any natural traffic.

I did have about 6 PR5 links on the front page of some link directories which have recently expired but have placed 4 new links on 4 PR6 sites which I thought would have redressed the balance.

Has anyone experienced similar in the past and if so what would you suggest is the best and quickest plan of action? Do you think I have to wait for my site to be crawled again before my results improve?

    Any help much appreciated. :)

    Thanks

    DG

Just wait sites seem to be falling out of the serps all the time these days only to come back a few days longer. Wait a few days to see what happens.

You've got a decent AMOUNT of links to your site, but many are unrelated to your niche. Some of the directories haven't even got content, and others haven't changed their title tag to anything specific yet. It's time for you to promote your site with a serious blog about Ebay and auctions in general (did you really have to post that tennis-girl and what does she have to do with your niche?) and get some good on topic links to your site.

Thanks for your input. It's strange though that my site was doing very well up until about a week ago and most of the links were not on-topic.

I do understand what you're saying about the blog but I'm concerned about the current drop and would like to know the best and quickest way to get back to where I was. The blog is more of a slow burner.

Would it be worth buying a few links?

Good SEO is usually slow work. Go find on topic sites in your niche and yes, if they don't want to link to you for free, offer money. Don't expect quick fixes though, they aren't likely to work. Unless of course you can get a great many ebay blogs blogging about how great your service is... that would probably work. AND those would be great backlinks to have even if it doesn't work quickly. Try 'review me'. it's a paid review service. http://www.reviewme.com/ (this is assuming your service is actually a good idea)
