I haven't started an adsense website yet b/c I'm trying to plan my attack before I jump in. But what are "impressions" and how much money does one get from having them get to your site?
Impressions are the number of times your ads are seen by visitors to your site. Example: 5 people visit your site and each visitor looks at 5 pages each. Let's say you have 1 ad block on each page. 5 visitors x 5 pages = 25 impressions.
It's exactly how alejandro described. You make money when your visitors click on your ads. The amount of money you make per click depends on the type of ads you have on your page which are defined by the type of content on your pages. If you are talking about mortgages then you will have high paying ads. The more users click on your ads, the more Google upranks your website and sends you higher paying ads since they realise that you're converting users a lot better. A higher eCPM will give you a higher payout with an increase in clicks. Hope that helps!
Even if there are more than 1 block, I think it still counts as a single impression if the vistor sees 1 page.
The amount you will earn from impressions is $0 for the first few days, if not the first few months and even maybe for ever. If you also get paid on impressoins all depends if advertisers choose your site for site targetting ads.
Saying that some sites can still earn more eCPM on impressions than clicks if they have a low CTR and a high paying advertising for CPM ads.
impressions are number times you pages have been visited! and you get earned something from adsense when someone clicks on advertisements provided by Google Adsense
I know, but if you had a low CTR then you can earn more through just having paid impressions from Google than what you would from paid clicks when it comes to eCPM. Google does pay you for impressions aswell if you have advertisers selecting your site for site targetting ads. If they pay a high CPM then you can have quite a few impressions and some good earnings from it.
Getting advertisers to select your site for targetting is simple. This includes: Have a site with a good design. Don't have many ads per page. Have the ads located in good positions. Have good quality content on your pages. Don't have a MFA type site. Try to make your site big and authority so that you can get more. Make your advertisers spending convert into sales / leads / clicks so that they keep adverising directly on your site. So as you can see the better your site is and the better position the ads is and the less ads you have on a page the more chance you are of having advertising wanting to advertise on your page. The niche is also very important aswell. At the end of the day the advertiser advertises on a site not for fun, but to convert their advertising expenses into profit. If they can do that then they will keep advertising on your site.
Thanks for the info. I have a lot of ads on my site, but I place them well enough, and they're relevant enough to where it's not an eye sore.
