you can easily help Google to find NEW pages faster by 1. having RSS feeds to announce new posts 2. submit / PING all major ping services with each updated RSS immediatly 3. include via SSI all your RSS on various high frequency pages of your site the combination of all 3 a.m. will lead to many dozen links to each NEW article being spread all over the web ( RSS directories you ping ) as well as on your own site on various pages. for large sites - mine too has 10'000+ pages and I add up to dozens of new pages daily - this normally helps that ALL new pages appear typically within max 3 days in G index
I've only recently finished uni and have a lot more time now. I am aiming (and succeeding!) in putting up one sexy, unique and fresh 1000-1500 article up on my site each day. I am fairly confident that this is by a long way enough as it is a niche niche topic anyway. Notting
my members update my site with dozens if not more pages every day.. the site ranks well for many terms, and the GoogleBot is ALWAYS there sucking it all up ..
I put new content on my site at least weekly. Personally I do feel that quality beats quantity though. As long as google indexes new stuff I put on within a month I'm not worried.
i usually throw up an article every other day or so, then i make a weekly update on my front page that tells about about all the articles ive added in the previous week, etc.
I try (and usually fail) to write up additional content for each of my sites individually at least once a day.
My members create, unknowingly, about 50 new pages per day and I add good fresh unique content daily, or at least every second day.
