Are Notebook coolers any good?

Are Notebook coolers any good?

My PC always gets real hot, and thats what caueses the CPU USAGE to go to 100%, so now i was thinking to go buy a Notebook Cooler USB on...?

Leave suggestions please?

 

I had a friend try one, he said it works for him. Are you talking about a under the notebook fan?

 

Yup, the one that uses USB and attaches to Laptop..

IMO, just find a product, then look at user reviews and do some research. I always do that before I buy.

I had one for my old Thinkpad and it worked fine. They are no the best fans in the world though, at least the one I had..one of them was loud sometimes after 6months+ usage.

I guess this is what i need. Because after running a game or something big the CPU usage always gets too 100% and then the comp get DAM HOT! It burns if you put your hands over it, so i think this will solve the issue?

it'll help, running games on LT's are a tough deal anyway...very CPU intensive.

On my new LT, I have it setting on a flat surface and then on my lap so my "area" does not get singed

 

They do work but most of them are pretty badly designed, They should design one to fit in the pci slot,

 

Any Notebook cooler will work with any laptop?

I agree, at least the one I had "felt" cheap, but it served it's purpose for me anyway.

provided the footprint matches the LT, you should be able to use any of them.

the one you linked there looks about 33% nicer than the one I had

Could you please explain what you mean here:

I suppose if your LT is on a desk then it wouldn't matter but for instance, I sit with my LT on my lap 94% of the time so I wouldn't want to have a 12"x12" LT cooler underneath my 18"x14" LT or whatever.

SO, I would think ideally you'd want one about the same size as your LT!

it looks pretty compact, from the specs if I'm reading it right it's 13.2" x 9.45" so you should have any trouble finding a suitable cooler.

Remmeber: I got a laptop that really HEATS UP when i play a game or something and then the game gets slow forawhile, and then it gets fixed again...

So i really need advice.

my T60 has it's own cooling system , don't need external one

Be sure it's suitable for your laptop.

 

it looked fine to me. 3 fans \instead oif 2, that's pretty cool.
