I think even Youtube is developing a revenue sharing model. its not available to everyone yet (only a select few), but should be within the next year.

im surprised youtube are developing a revenue sharing model considering they are currently running into big debt. Why not atleast start to properly monetise their site first, then think about, once in profit to share the revenue.

I've built a Squidoo lens (in my sig) with a list of about 30 sites like those. I use a lot of them, but can't vouch for all them. If it's missing any, the lens is set-up to allow you to add your own to it.

    Hope that helps.

It's a site that allows you to create a "lens" about any subject. The idea behind it is that a good lens about a topic will be of more value than a standard Google search for that same topic. It's become quite popular, as it has a few hundred thousand lenses now, I think.

I've not used it much, but figured it'd be a nice place to put a list of revenue sharing sites. The fact that I can set it up so that others can automatically add and rank sites is kinda cool.

Anyone can get your ID -- it's in the source code of every page where you show ads.

As to whom to give permission to show your ads to, that's up to you. I've never heard of a situation of paying someone to show your ads for you, but I don't think that would violate the TOS. It would just be a foolish move for one of you. If you can make $10/month on ads and you pay some $1/month to show them, wouldn't that person be better off showing their own ads and making $10/month?

www.squidoo.com/why and www.squidoo.com/what will explain how it works as an introduction and for the beginner.

Though the Adsense revenue one earns is quite insignificant.

Don't get me wrong, it's an attractive site, but you won't earn what you deserve as far as publishing original content. But it'll work well for you if you can get Amazon and Ebay products to complement your content.

HubPages on the other hand is very good for Adsense. http://hubpages.com/hub/howhubworks (as an introduction for the uninitiated) and http://hubpages.com/hub/how (a closer look for those who have signed up and want to come up to speed with how all the bits work) will be a good place to start.

If you don't have an Adsense account then HubPages is also a very good and quick way to get approval. Ironically I wrote a Squidoo Lens about how to use HubPages to get an instant Adsense account.

With HubPages part of the process of tying your Adsense Publisher ID to your registration is so the ads can be displayed and ONLY YOU can operate the account on the behalf of that Adsense Publisher ID.

That means no one else can register a HubPages account and display your Adsense Publisher ID. I guess just in case anyone wanted to do anything silly with it, like run inappropriate content and get your Adsense account banned.

While it stops that from happening at HubPages there is of course the rest of the internet where someone could do that to anyone they well please.

But there are a couple of other reasons, but that's the one I know off the top of my head.
