Hi all, I know that the FAQ sticky says that Google won't ban you if you get tons of inbound links all at once, but are there any other adverse affects that could happen google-wise? Hopefully this hasn't been answered a thousand times already. My apologies if so. Thanks!
getting a bunch of inbounds very fast is not 'natural' and Google can probably detect this. The guy that used to rank #1 for "make money online" recently had a contest for building links with anchortext of "make money online" ... mysteriously, he disappeared from the SERPS all together.. Coincidence ?
So basically you won't get banned, but you could/will get pennalized in terms of your search position?
penalized - but i agree on saying that you wont get banned, i dont know why they would do that, but with their new "no bought link " crap - u never know what they WILL actually do
Yeah, your site will not be banned but getting more inbound with unrelated site is not healthy. It will add your site a negative point or it became useless back links.Just choose a relevance site it will help you a lot.
I've recently had a site that I've added lots of backlinks to drop in the serps and this seems like the most likely reason since nothing else has changed. Similar things have been happening with other sites I'm involved with as well. Personally I think Google is getting much better at detecting paid links and is imposing some sort of penalty, although not a complete ban.
I think your site will not get banned, if so, then all member of DP who joining co-op advertisement network will get banned from google because they have ton of backlink.. friends of mine have 8000 bakclink just by using co-op advertisement network for only couple month
bec areful with too many links in one time. I've just get out off SERP lately.. feeling S*ck!! so becareful
No, Link bait is still the best way to build inbound links. IMO, we will never be penalized by having tons of backlinks quickly. If they penalize this act, then your competitors can sabotage your site easily.
You need to set the browser for 100 results per page, and scroll down to about the 50's/60's: [make money online] -Michael
One has to wonder why the site in question is dropping instead of rising. Could it be due to a site upgrade several days ago?
same here.. I think this query answered already before in a different thread.. but anyway..Its okay..It's nice to share and gain more knowledge about this topic..
Lol.. Yea... John Chows blog is gone. He used to rank #1 for make money online. It looks like his contest bit him in the arse. Its an interesting case study in quick link building.
Weird... John Chow still shows as #1 for me when I search for make money online - last crawled June 23rd.
