I recently got a lot of emails that promoting Gary Ambrose's List Bandit. I signed up and found he just used a out-of-date safelist script to build that site. I never use safelists to promote my sites but I'm curious about whether safelists are working or not. How do you use the safelists and how effective is it? Need your opinions.
Yes they do work, and here is the best resource you can find about them. http://www.ultimate-safelist-survival-guide.com/ I have read and used the advice in this guide with great results, actually I even gave a testimonial on that page.
Thanks John, I currently use aweber to mail my list but it seems impossible to put safelists leads to aweber...
Impossible how? You simply send them to a page like this: http://www.listmastersecrets.com With your opt in form there for them to sign up.
Oh I understand John. I always used to send mails just in the safelist member area... Thanks very much John, I will try it.
When you mail out to people do it just like you would a sales copy email. Here is an example of one I did to my list: That's just an example but I hope you get the point.
It may work; but some webhosting explicitly prohibit safelist (is it hostgator? not sure) be sure read the terms if you are using these lists
I think I should use safelists to promote my leads capture page to add them to my autoresponder at first, then send them promo emails. Am I right? And do you know any paid membership only safelists? It seems that they work better than free.
Safelists and Safe-lists are different things. A safelist is a program that someone joins and agrees to receive mailings from other people, which we are talking about here. safe-lists are lists of subscribers supposed "opt-in" leads that people try to sell to you, which are most times illegal.
Here is a list of the top ranking safelists and the ones I would advice you to use if you plan on going the safelist route. http://traffichoopla.com/cgi-bin/p3.cgi/7651/
That's how to do it, because if you try to sell safelist users something right off it's not likely to happen. Get them into a list first and then they can get to know you (at least that's the theory). Paid membership safelists do seem to be more responsive in my experience, and I've used safelists right from when I first started. Don't expect too much from them though as they're just a part of an overall marketing strategy. If you go to my website (in the sig) and click on 'More Marketing Tools' on the left, you'll see a number of safelists that have worked best for me. Martin
