I haven't been around the forum much for the past few days. (Did anyone notice?) I was injured in a softball game. To make a long story short - I spent one night in the hospital and now I am awaiting facial reconstruction surgery, scheduled for next Tuesday.... So how has everyone else been?
Quit? No way dude. I twist my knee so many time playing basketball, one time i can't walk for month. Still playing and will play every weekend [edit] i forgot you are a girl...sorry for calling you dude
Facial reconstruct? In Softball?? Were you the keeper standing too close to the bat or something? Or, did you go an abuse the ref? Col
Actually, it was a co-ed team. I was in the dugout and our shortstop threw to the 1st baseman. 1st baseman missed, and I "caught" the ball with my face. Broke my cheekbone in 5 places. So I am at least out for the season.
whats a netball? Men play softball because drunk baseball would require too much effort. Softball is just the right amount.
Netball is only an australian and Nz sport mostly i am pretty sure, its kind of like basketball, cept you canot run with the ball or dribble. Generally only played by women
does he mean volleyball? Wikipedia to the rescue! Netball is a sport similar to and derived from basketball, and was originally known in its country of origin, the United States, as "women's basketball". Invented by Clara Gregory Baer[1], a pioneer in women's sport, it is now the pre-eminent women's team sport (both as a spectator and participant sport) in Australia and New Zealand and is popular in Jamaica, Barbados, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom.
Sorry to hear that Buffalo, I wish you a speedy recovery. I turned your buffalo pink, think you said you wanted it that way somewhere.
(Warning the following surgical description may be a bit graphic for those with squeamish stomachs.) My zygotic arch (part of the cheekbone) is broken on all three sides and pushed down out of place. They have to make 3 incisions (one below my eye, one in my eyebrow, and one in my hairline above my ear) then they have to put 3 levers underneath the broken bone and "pop" it back up into place. Then they secure it with 3 plates, and viola, I have a reconstructed face! (or at least a reconstructed cheekbone...) Actually the surgeon said it wasn't a bad break, as far as broken faces go. He described the procedure that they do for worse breaks, and I am very thankful that they do not have to do the other one on me!
I think you should document the healing process Buffalo. How cool would it be to put all the images together on youtube and watching yourself get well again. (does that sound a little disturbed?)
Sounds above my talent level.... The most advanced that I get is a slideshow on myspace! But not a bad idea....
