Martial arts. I think you look a bit of a puff if you shave your chest, cover yourself in baby oil and pose infront of a mirror!

Absolutely - that's what people do in body building. I have a friend who does it and he shaves and waxes everywhere, pumps himself with high protein junk, covers himself in oil and poses all the time. Shows he's in touch with his feminine side!

    I would suggest boxing.

Health? Self confidence? Being able to go out when it's windy?

Bah try hard core lifting once and get back to me. I see so many 'marial artists' little shits wouldn't last 2 seconds with me, they need to put some muscle on which wont happen without lifting. Why not both if anything?

Feminine side, again bah give me a break.

I think you just want to be able to kick some a$$.
Most Martial Arts won't help as much as boxing in a non-competitional fight. Try judo, maybe.

Martial Arts because it will give you a balanced body in terms of power, speed and technique.

    How old are you?

You can start bodybuilding at any age, but I don't know about martial arts.

    Martial Arts for sure ;)

Start with Karate and end with Aikido ;)

You can always smile without fear and without the need for a fight :D

those who are not martial artists do not know?
Very 'junior' and compared to somone who works out very unpowerful.
Why not do both? Most top martial artists from what I've read do workout as well..

    No No...

I don't say that only martial arts is best. One should have powerful muscles besides martial art, Like Bruce lee.

Problem with me doing weights is that, it makes me put on weight. And when they catagorize "fighters" by weight, i try to stick to the same weight (under 70kg) so i have trouble working weights although i used to weight lift quite regularly.

I think this thread comes down to this: Who would win a fight between Chuck Norris and Ahnuld. Of course Chuck Norris.

There are ways to lift w/o gaining weight ;)
 #1 you don't know until you've had the fight, #2 just because you're a top lifter doesn't mean you're tough, #3 who cares who would win in a fight how does that make something 'better'
