i am using blogspot to promote my sites. can i redirect blogspot to my Primary Domain? if yes then what's the Method will be use?
Richard Hearne has a good overview of redirecting a blogspot blog here: www.redcardinal.ie/consultancy/09-03-2007/corporate-blogging-blogspot-301/
to be honest i haven't worked with blogger yet but if it lets you to change and modify template files you can use this code: <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="1;url=YourSite.com" />
its very simple just go to >>> Log in to your Blogspot account and go to Settings->Publishing->Custom Domain. Enter your URL, click Save and pray.
That's actually not a good way to redirect any site, speaking seo-wise. Did you check which header the redirect was returning? -Michael
Due to hijacking and over abuse of meta-refresh and Javascript redirects in cloaking instances, the proper way to do it is through the use of a 301 Permanent redirect in the HTTP headers. -Michael
Did I do what by myself? I was saying that using meta refreshes was a bad idea, and I also asked you if you checked the headers on the redirect you said you did, here: Do you know which method of redirect is being used when you do it the way you said was very simple? -Michael
i used this method >>> Log in to your Blogspot account and go to Settings->Publishing->Custom Domain. Enter your URL, click Save and pray.
Did you check to see what headers are being returned after you do that though? Enter your Blogger URL, the one you redirected, into this tool: http://www.bad-neighborhood.com/header_detector.php Look and see what the headers are it returns, let us know please. -Michael
I did redirect this blog >>> http://adulthalloweencostumeonline.blogspot.com to http://full-dating.com and i got the result from your given tool
And that first line is the one that matters the most, thanks. Yep, looks like they are def doing it the right way then: That is what is considered the "search engine friendly" way to redirect a webpage. -Michael
Wondering if you got the same Pr and your backlinks are in tact? I am always afraid of switching my PR6 blog to a proper domain .com
