I use this from time to time..

    http://www.copyscape.com

It allows you to search for copies of your page on the Web. This will help alert you of any duplicate content that could affect your search/page ranking.

I hope this helps a lot fo people (and I apologise if this has been posted elsewhere before). Happy content writing! :D

    Noddegamra,

Your info is much appreciated, but guess most writers will know it. It's just 5 cents to check if the copy is worth or not.

You effort to put something across appreciated. :).

    Regards,
    ~G

Thanks for this! With the industry growing fast, it will soon be harder to track plagiarism, etc. :(

Whilst I recommended this I actually have a question on it. lol.

On some of my sites it is an excellent tool. But on others I have some great articles that I suspect have been duped. The trouble with this tool is that the articles are on pages with a lot of links, comments, and sidebar items (text, links etc). Due to the amount of these, the percentage of how much the tool see's my page as duplicated may be low if it takes everything into account, therefore not alerting me of someone dupes it.

Is this realistic? Or is the tool cleverer than that, with the ability to extract and understand which bit is actually the article in question?

try using plagiarism finder. It's mainly designed for copied essays but it also works with sites.

That was naive of you OmShanti.
I wonder if I can give you a -ve rep for asking for a rep on a forum where people give away so much more better and insightful (among other adjectives) knowledge, for free.
    Die you SOB.
I hope thats not another infraction for me.
