If you had no other choice but to choose another religion?

If you had no other choice but to choose another religion. Which one would you embrace?

This hypothetical question also applies to the non-believers in god or in revealed religions.

If I was forced to choose a religion then it would be Buddhism. I like its philosophy of life, its noble teachings and its flexibility. I admire the honesty of the historical founder of Buddhism "Buddah". I think he never claimed to be god, son of god or sent by god. All he tried to be a good guide and a teacher.

I would rather die than become a slave to any religion.

So how does this question work? Choose another religion or die? Is that what you are asking?

    currently: Atheist/no religion

I'd go to Buddhism. More lifestyle, less beliefs.

Cheapseoservices, sakarylee and Sirpsychosexy what if dying is not an option and you had to choose another religion? I am agnostic now(don't know if god exists or not). If I had to choose a religion I would probably choose pomeranianism in which you worship pomeranian dogs.:) OR
here are some funny ones that actually are not meant to be:
    Jews for Allah
    The Raelians
    JC's Girls, Girls, Girls

Well, put it this way. I would suffer whatever consequences for not choosing another religion. Be it torture, death or whatever. If I were offered the entire world and all it's riches, I would still not choose another religion. Therefore, as far as the question goes for me. There is no answer if you or anyone else is asking me.

But the question is not, "would you die for your religion?" or "would you change religions if tortured?" or "would you rather die than change religions?" WE ARE PRETENDING:)
What "If you had no other choice but to choose another religion?"
    No other choice...

You are not getting the point. I simply would refuse to choose. No one can force me to choose another, no matter what they (whoever "they" are) did.

There is no "pretending" in this regard. This is quite a serious question of one's integrity to God.

Choosing to die is not an option here. Just try to think of something you might possibly consider, perhaps the lesser evil of all.

Even I know, colin's not gonna do that, and neither would I.

It's not a simple question, the answer for some is uncomprehendable.

I guess I'd switch from Atheism to Agnosticism - but even that would be a stretch of faith.

Do you not think that the majority of us are very close minded, even the ones who claim to be liberal and open minded? We find the question to consider another belief system very daunting. We all honestly think that there is no second best, only one is the best, and that one is mine! We won’t even give the benefit of doubt and some of us would rather die then follow a religion of any kind.
Every one of us thinks that the other is wrong don’t we? Perhaps we are all wrong!

That's a fair point. However, the thing you don't know is the basis or the background of each individual's faith. In other words, it would be impossible to judge anyone's belief system because of this factor. You can only go by how a person's "deeds" indeed are backed up by their "words". On top of that, only God and his son Jesus can read each one of our hearts. Only God and Jesus can really know the truth.

What if God said to you "Yo, I'm not down wit dat religion homie, choose anodda or I be eternally damnin' ya boiii"?

That's the question, if you had no choice in the matter as if God told you to pick another one.

Me? I'd just make another one up and switch to it.
