I'm seeing lots of directories using the contextual deep links but have to say I'm a bit confused as to how to best utilize them. Would someone please post an example or show this in use in your directory?
here is an example of a details page with contextual deep links: http://www.topseodir.com/Directorie...s/Paid_Directories/Directory-Rating-1170.html
really easy to submit a contextual link as you are entering your link you will see a preview of what it will look like
So when you write the 3 seperate descriptions, they all come together as one whole description? Is it neccessary to have it set that way, or could it have just the one description field for the submitter to fill and the keywords are still placed throughout, in their desired positions.
You have 4 separate description fields and 3 keywords. As you type you will see your text so I think it is pretty easy... Please have a look here http://www.yhay.com/submit.php no need to submit...just play with the description fields and keywords Hope this help
I guess i will write a tutorial on how a submittor needs to use it while making submission, hope that will be helpful Directory owners using the mod can use it in their submission form Will do it once i log in tomorrow
a short description explaining this features is needed for directories including it. there has been questions even for standard deeplinks, butI think the preview is a good way to show how the description will be.

contextual links are not new. they appeared with html. What is new is the mod to submit contextual deep links in phpld. or do you provide that?
Agreed ... you have had this for a long time now about the same time that an0n came out with deep links if not a few months before... But ill say that if im correct YOU are having to do the work making thier links Live and not done by the submitter.... which is what im looking for as this would save me time to were i can also control the amount submitted 5 max in any 500-700 characters used so that the public doesn't start a spam fest as you know most will always try thx malcolm
mhamdi and loredan, what im thinking is if that description was all one ( i know it comes together as one) im guessing the descriptions have to be split into 4 so that the keywords are spaced throughout, theres maybe no way around that. Its good that the preview shows whats going on, i think it will just cause some head scratching at first for a submitter, directions for them is definately needed, just that it needs for the person to read it and not miss it otherwise i could see lots of confusing submissions coming through, not from a DP member who has just found out about them but from somebody who has never seen this before.
Would it be possible to use the deeplinks mod previously created by you mhamdi and then also include the contextual deeplinks mod as a seperate featured. So like: Featured with Contextual Deeplinks $ Featured with 5 Deeplinks Regular etc,etc Do things start getting too complicated at this point, or is this possible? has anyone else been thinking about this. I noticed on topseodir (owned by choice i think) he still has deeplinks with his regular.
yes I was confused the first time too but the preview really helps. I don't think regular submitters will figure it out though, some are still having trouble figuring out deep links.
I think for my own directories i would like to keep a good old fashioned "Regular" that is seperate and that has no extras of any type so that if a submitter comes along and thinks what the hell are these deeplinks or contextual links they can always opt for the straight up no frills regular.
