Do we have to ask the tech guy to assign those ip to our websites, or they can be handled in one control panel?
Thats what im wondering too, when it is in place, will be nice if it can be done from control planel.
yeah, you have to email the support. damn.... i am paying almost $40/month for just the ips.....is there a cheaper resellers hosting with c-class ips out there?
I signed up for their multiple c-class IPs the other week. Managed to get 25 different accounts across different servers including different b-classes Just e-mail them what you need, and they'll hook you up
Yep I was thinking of moving my domains over when they expire, I saw this when I checked the site out a few weeks ago (didn't realise it was a new offer), when I asked my host to do this they sent me a page of gibberish rubbish explaining why they couldn't do it.
lol some hosting companies run off a reseller or two so they probably won't have the ability to do it. If you get yourself a dedi server, any providor will give you more IPs, just depends if they can allocate different c-class's.. But with hostgator, it's good as it's spread over different servers, c-class & b-class IPs and nameservers. But it depends on what you need i suppose.
Thats great, but a bit expensive for small business.I agree LeoSeo, hostgator really good but isnt it big for a ip / $5? Their solution for me, was $3 as i only needed like 20mb space, 1 mySQL db etc.. but i just got an e-mail from them saying they have a new solution for multiple c-class IP hosting. Rather than putting your accounts on different servers, they can put all your accounts on one WHM account with multiple IP's. I'd prefer to stay on different servers, dunno about you
Hello... Well i just chatted with Chad thier at www.hostgator.com that will be redoing our Network IPs on our C panels and got a great SEO package offer as we negotiated a very good price with them and also got 1 month free so... I encourage all to seek what is offered... thx malcolm
I had nothing but problems around 1-year ago on a host gator reseller account. Glad to hear they are improving. I have had no problems with Site5 and a small host I use budgethost.ca
I can understand where your coming from... trust me ive been around the world with enough hosts to last me a lifetime... But what they offered me i cant reject as i will have 50+ C classes to work with meaning everlast one off my directories will be on different C classes which is what ive been looking far and few in between so the ip issue is done and over with for me! Plus the extra cost is a drop in the bucket compared to what ive been paying so in the end to pay and extra 25 bucks from what ive been paying and get everything i want is to me........ finding heaven Plus he claimed i will be the first BETA user for seo hosting option.....so im very happy thx malcolm
If i understand correctly the C class of an IP is the 3rd group of numbers along in an IP? Can anyone explain to me why the C class is often mentioned, and concentrated on when referring to talk of IP's, because C class means only those numbers are different right? the rest of the IP is the same. If that is correct, it means this new hostgater offering is only for a difference in 3 digits on your IP's. Please let me know if im misunderstanding or not. Is the C class being different on each IP enough? i mean enough difference that you can then link to your own directories and everything is cushdy.
From my understanding proof does not really exist that there are any penalties from having multiple links from the exact same ip's. Matt Cutts has mentioned a penalty if all or most of your links come from internlinking your own sites, so I guess the assumption is that same ip for 100's of links is bad.
With the solution they provided me, it is good as I needed many IPs and best of all they were on different servers, different nameservers and a couple of different b-classes. And yeah, if you are building a network of sites around one topic it's quite risky to interlink those 100 sites when they are all on the same IP. But if you plan your interlinking carefully, and your websites are at different locations along with unique content then it should be cool
