Where to submit new blog posts?

I was wondering what you do after you make a new blog post to promote it. I submit a copy of the post to an article directory and then usually ad some of the posts to social bookmarking sites. I was wondering what else I can do for promotion. Thanks!

You could stumble it if it's worth something or if it's related to general interest. I'd advise you get a hang on how these social networking websites work exactly. The way you promote them depends on the topic of your blog as well. Most are interested in technology.

    Hope this helps,

I wouldn't put the same article on a article directory as your website, as it will be counted as duplicate content. Write seperate articles for article directories.

Thanks for the replies. I have been submitting my new posts to ezinearticles. So is it really a bad idea to submit the same article as my blog post??

It's just plain bad practice to submit every post to digg. If every one of your posts belonged on digg, they'd be getting dugg on their own. You need to think about branding as well when trying to build a blog, and you need to participate in social media sites outside of submitting your own posts in order to get any traffic from them anyway, especially digg.

Branding is sooooo important. If no one knows anything about you and
you do not have a list of subscribers that you have a relationship with
why should anyone take any notice of your posts or articles.

Get into the forums, join the social networking sites and get your name
and your blog OUT there, then you will find that you do not have to
bombard Digg with your posts, people will automatically Digg them.

    Hi mwgr5

I've had some luck with Squidoo.com but my thinking is in reverse on this one. Social bookmarking sites are important, as are the use of your blog's built in RSS feed. Using a site such as Squidoo.com to create a promotional page for you blog, an uplink is made from your blog's RSS feed to update this promotional page every time you write a blog post. The content of your blog posts ideally contains excerpts from your submitted articles but not enough to give away both the milk and the cow.

Now think in terms of web pages such as your blog promotional page in exponential terms, again and as mentioned in an earlier comment: Your blog content or overall theme determines what types of promotional avenues are suitable but . . . I just happen to think that blog promotion works best if the full power of blog publishing is brought to bare. RSS feeds have incredible promotional value.

I am afraid it will be counted as duplicate articles and this practice is frowned upon (especially google).

    DO NOT DIGG EVERY POST!!

Digg will pick up on this and eventually your site will be banned.

    Trust me
