I am selling a car and if the person gives me the money and i give him the keys (no papers or anything involved) is this legal? or does he have to sign somthing to show he baught it? like if he crashes will i still be responsable? (hes not inusuring it or anything)
You can't legally sell a car unless you sign the ownership over to the new owner. That's the only paper you'll need.
in the uk the person named on the papers gets all the speeding tickets no matter how many times the car is sold afterwards, until someone changes the name on the papers, you are. guess who the cops come after if the car is used in a hit n run? a drive by shooting, a crime? you want cops kicking ya door down every week?
The car is not currently insured though... hes jsut puting some random plates on it giving me the cash then leaving
has the car been in your name? if so, just take the front door off your house, save the cops kicking it down and making all that damage
Where in Canada are you? Driving an unregistered car with plates belonging to another car is MASSIVE offence!
What would stop your next door guy to seel your car? Just your keys to the car the key he got it made. Wake up!!!!!!!!!! No kidding Ha! FBI could book any crime they could not solve on the owner.
