It depends. hourly stats are a few hours late (one, two or three). Daily stats you have updated once a day, obviously :)

I agree with grg. I find that the stats are 1-3 hours behind but never more than 3 hours. I wonder if it also depends on the amount of traffic your site gets because I noticed that as the popularity of one of my sites increased over time, the stats were updated more often with a 1 hour lag than the 3 hours that was at first.

    Good note TrafficNotice....

Mine seem to get updated only once a day. However, some of my sites don't see near the traffic that some people here get.

    What does yours get... thousands?

I have one site tracked with Google analytics that gets about 500 uniques / day. It has grown to that from less than 10 / day in about 10 months.

My analytics stats usually update about every 4 hours. I check mine once in the morning, around lunch, and maybe a couple of times at night.

Mine used to be exactly 3 hours behind.. then, about a month or so ago it moved up to almost exactly 2 hours behind..

One or two times per month there will be a giant delay of 12-24 hours - but other than that i'm on a consistent 2-hour delay..

You don't need real time data with Google Analytics..it's not a tracker...it's an analyzer to track trends in your traffic.

You should be using a tracker along with Google Analytics to give you data such as the last 100 referrals, visitors, etc.

I check my Google Analytics once a week..every Monday, but use my trackers daily.

Can someone suggest some free trackers to me please?
Although it's already 27th March here already, it doesn;t appear in google analytics, and 26th march appeared in the data only at about 12:45 pm today. why this delay? I m not happy with this - i was hoping for something more real-time...

One of the best trackers to use is awstats. Highly recommended.

I just signed up with GA and now its been more than 26 hours since I put the code on. I think I found a mistake in the code after about 12 hours. How long do I have to wait? After the initial 24 hours, if I found a problem and fixed it, then should it only take 3 hours max?

You can rely on the data being 24 hours behind. They actually update more frequently than that from what I've seen. Usually you can get data that is around 3 - 4 hours old, but that is not reliable. This is why by default the date selection only includes through yesterday. You can select to get today's data, but it can't be guaranteed accurate or timely.
