    Senaia

May ask why you don't offer "featured listing"?

    Ethic and seo reasons.

I always hated sites with 5-15 featured listing and then 10-30 regular listing, all in the same page.

I only allow 10 links per page so that the page won't lose its pagerank in the future and also the 10 links listed will have a good pagerank share. It would also look pro for the visitor.

Thanks to spammers and low quality sites, it was switched to paid.

I understand your point. I might do as you're doing in the near future. I used to give free listing, but people never followed my guidelines.

It would be nice to see more directory owners advertise their directories to bring traffic to their listings instead of advertising their directories to bring customers to buy more listing from them. A strong backlink is good, but is not enough specially when google will be watching who's selling or buying links.

One lesson I learned: Take care of your customers and they will take care of you

The next version will be something like 3.2.1 or 3.3.0 and it will be at least a couple of months from now. During that time you will see some other releases including an improved Article Script, a new version of Newstopica (rebranded under a new name), and a new Photo Album script.

No, it won't be called 4.0. Check my post above.

The versions will be like 3.3, 3.4, etc., so the price structure should stay the same and a 4.0 version won't be coming out anytime soon.

Yes, that is true. I've studied carefully, and there are clearly some other products like Newstopica that are not banned. I have contacted google a couple of times, and they don't seem to reply back, so I can't determine the exact reason. I used to say that Newstopica will help you "create a site like Google News". It may be they did not like my slogan.

Not necessarily, because we don't know if it is the function of the script. It could have been something on the site (such as content in the demo that I let others try), incoming links, or the slogan I mentioned in my last post. As I said, there are other scripts that have the same "function" as newstopica that are not banned, and there are even a number of sites that run newstopica that are not banned, so there is reason to believe there is hope. :)

Can you tell us what the differences are?
I would like to now, since I haven't tried 3.2 yet.

    1. Delete multiple links at the same time
    2. Language Editor
    3. Google and Yahoo sitemaps
    4. Quick Sub category editor
    5. Improved Security (we did a complete audit)
    6. Database backup from admin
    7. Template switcher
    8. Much improved link validation
    9. Articles in categories
    10. Editors can be assigned categories to administrate
    11. Detail Pages
    12. Three category selection methods for submit form (default, auto-selected and AJAX category selection)
    13. Links are searchable in admin
    14. Banning of ip addresses, domains or words in submissions
    15. Categories in search results (on the front end)
